New beginnings? Now that Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s relationships with Christine Brown, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown are over leaving him with just one wife, Robyn Brown – many are wondering whether the TLC personality will begin courting someone new.

‘Sister Wives’: Is There a New Sister Wife?

In January 2023, an insider exclusively told In Touch that Kody is “definitely actively looking” for a new wife.

“He’s a proud polygamist, that’s the lifestyle he’s accustomed to and in his mind,” the source explained, adding that the Brown patriarch wouldn’t be “happy” with a monogamous marriage to Robyn.

The insider noted that the TV personality is hopeful he will be able to find another wife. “Kody may not be a catch to the average, modern woman, but there are plenty of women in this community who would jump at the chance to be one of his wives,” the source shared.

While it seems Kody hasn’t set his sights on his next wife quite yet, fans of the long-running reality series hope that the businessman will consider looking for love again – mostly for the sake of the show.

“And #kodybrown better get some new wives quick or #SisterWivesTLC is going to get #cancelled, no one wants to watch just Kody and Robyn, that would be the worst show ever,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while another added that the network “must [be] going to introduce new Sister Wives because this cast [thinking emoji] at this point makes no sense anymore. It’s over, so we need a new storyline. It’s becoming redundant with Kody.”

Another fan echoed similar sentiments, writing, “Will be interesting to see what TLC does since all 3 wives have left him. Can’t have a sister wives show with only one wife. Unless he brings in new ones, which reports say he’s looking.”

However, it seems Kody may now be more open to leaving polygamy in his past. In March 2023, he shocked fans when he gave a surprising update about his relationship with Robyn.

“Robyn and I are basically monogamous,” he said in a Cameo video that he filmed for a fan, which later circulated on TikTok. “Don’t let that out, that’s probably a spoiler, but it seems obvious with the new season coming.”

Does Kody’s Family Think He’ll Find a New Wife?

During the January 8 episode of Sister Wives: One on One, Robyn revealed that she doesn’t expect Kody to find another wife. She added that “he’s basically said no” to the idea of expanding their family.

When asked her thoughts on adding another wife into the mix, she responded, “I’m scared of it because of how badly this has gone.”

The mother of five added that being in a monogamous relationship would mess with her “identity.”

“It’s not the future I wanted. I want that house with us on the porch in the rocking chairs with our grandkids and our kids around us – the grandparent ranch,” Robyn explained. “That’s what I want. And I don’t know how to let it go.”

Christine also predicted whether or not Kody and Robyn will add to their family. ”I think a part of them would always be a little bit sad that this didn’t work and that the big family didn’t work,” the reality star said. “And I think that there’d be a little bit of a mourning and a little bit of a loss there still, because it’s a dream, right? It’s giving up on a dream, and it’s not a dream that they wanted to give up on, necessarily.”

“I don’t see them looking for another wife after this,” she added.

What Has Kody Said About Finding A New Wife?

Kody was asked if he’s considering finding a new wife during the January 8 episode of the Sister Wives: One on One special.

“I’m right on the verge of not even being a polygamist and that’s been a part of my identity for 30 years,” he responded. Almost a year later, an insider told In Touch that the patriarch was “falling apart” after his three wives left him.

“Kody has gone from man of the house to the doghouse in just a couple of years, and he’s feeling he’s got nothing to fight for,” the insider said in September 2023. “Kody’s full of resentment for his exes and has been moping around and in a bad mood and blaming everyone but himself. Robyn’s sick and tired of him complaining.”

When Did Christine and Kody Separate?

Christine – who spiritually wed Kody in 1994 – was the first wife to leave the polygamous patriarch, announcing the news in an Instagram post in November 2021.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” the mom of six wrote. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family”

Kody also confirmed the split on Twitter, writing in part, “Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness. We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and adoration for her.”

When Did Janelle and Kody Split?

In Touch exclusively broke the news on December 9, 2022, that Janelle and Kody went their separate ways after nearly 30 years of marriage.

“Janelle is a strong independent woman and realized she can do it on her own,” a source told In Touch at the time, noting the Plexus ambassador “outgrew him.”

When Did Kody Break Up With Meri?

Meri – Kody’s first wife whom he legally wed in 1990, divorced in 2014 but remained spiritually wed – first alluded that the father of 18 ended their relationship after years of palpable tension while appearing on the Sister Wives: One on One tell-all episode that aired on December 18, 2022.

“It just doesn’t make sense to me that he would be so frustrated with Christine and be like, ‘She just made this decision,’” the Lizzie’s Heritage Inn owner told host Sukanya Krishnan. “We didn’t consult, we didn’t talk, she just made the decision, and then he says, ‘No, I don’t consider myself married to Meri.’ Like, he just made the decision. I’ve never heard him say that to me.”

For his part, Kody said in a clip aired during Meri’s scene, “If she wanted to move on and marry another, she wouldn’t get an argument with me.”

A month later, Meri and Kody confirmed their split in a joint statement on Instagram. “In light of a recent unapproved press release, we feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way and in our own timing,” their statement, which was shared on January 10, 2023. “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.”

The reality stars added that they were “committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all the members of our family.”

Is ‘Sister Wives’ Canceled?

Though it is unclear if Sister Wives will be canceled in the future, season 18 of the long-running series made its debut on TLC on August 20.

Will There Be a ‘Sister Wives’ Spinoff?

While a Sister Wives spinoff has yet to be confirmed by TLC, fans of the reality series have been calling for Christine and Janelle – the former wives who have remained the closest – to get their own spinoff series now that they’re no longer with Kody.

“Cancel this show and give Janelle & Christine a show,” one Twitter user wrote, while another tagged TLC and added, “So is it time to cancel #SisterWivesTLC yet? The only reason ppl [people] tuned in are [sic] now gone. Nobody likes Robyn & Kody and honestly the show has run its course. Let’s have a Christine and Janelle after-Sister Wives show! They are the best!”
