Liam Hemsworth’s Parents Approve of His New Girlfriend, Gabriella Brooks: ‘She’s a Much Better Fit’
After Liam Hemsworth sparked dating rumors when he was spotted with Gabriella Brooks and his parents, Leonie and Craig, at lunch in Byron Bay, Australia, on Friday, December 13, a source told In Touch exclusively that the actor’s family approves of his new love. “Craig and Leonie adore Gabriella and think she’s a much better fit for their son than Miley [Cyrus], who they never warmed to,” the insider explained. “They didn’t approve of Miley’s attention-seeking ways or the way she treated their son. Not only is Gabriella drop-dead gorgeous and a successful model, she’s fun, intelligent and sweet-natured — you can tell she isn’t after Liam for his fame and fortune and adores him for all the right reasons.”
The 29-year-old actor appeared to be in good spirits as he was spotted with the 21-year-model. In photos obtained by The Daily Mail, the handsome hunk first gave a hug to his mom, and then watched Gabriella and his mama embrace. The potential new couple chatted with his parents before they took a seat at the restaurant. Later on, Gabriella shook hands with a female friend of the family.
Additionally, Liam’s brother Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are excited for the new pair. “Elsa’s thrilled that Liam’s moved on from Miley — she always thought he could do better than his ex, and the way she sees it, he has with Gabriella!” the source added. “She and Chris have already met Gabriella and thinks she’s wonderful and a perfect fit for Liam.”
Even though The Hunger Games alum is still trying to move on from Miley, Gabriella is in a similar situation. The blonde beauty dated 1975 frontman, Matthew Healy, for four years, and it looks they broke up this past fall. Perhaps that’s what they bonded over!
Liam — who was back on the market in August after he and Miley called it quits after eight months of marriage — seemed like he was back on the dating scene in October when he was seen canoodling with model Maddison Brown in New York City. “Liam and Maddison met recently in L.A. and just hit it off,” a second source told In Touch exclusively at the time. “They have a lot in common — being a fellow Aussie, [being] actors, [being] family-oriented and loving the beach are just a few. It’s a totally natural fit, and they get on really well.”
However, the 22-year-old Dynasty star didn’t want to discuss her relationship with the Australia native. “I’m not answering that question. My rule is not talking about my personal life,” she told Confidential magazine earlier this month. “I understand it, it’s human nature … everyone wants gossip. It doesn’t really bother me too much. I don’t pay attention to it.”
Meanwhile, the “Malibu” crooner, 27, hasn’t been shy about posting about her love life all over Instagram ever since she started dating Cody Simpson in October following her short fling with Kaitlynn Carter. The Tennessee native and the “Golden Thing” singer, 22, had been friends for a long time before they decided to take their connection to the next level.
In the past few months, the musical artists celebrated Miley’s “silent” birthday together in addition to attending family events and performing on TikTok. “Cody has a calming effect on Miley, and that’s what she needs right now,” a third source told In Touch exclusively. “He’s like her comfort food. She needs Cody in her life right now.”
Cody couldn’t help but gush over his beau. “I’m very happy. Yeah, I’m very, very happy,” he told In Touch and other reporters in October. “She’s creative, she’s very passionate about what she does and I’m very similar in that sense, that’s why we get along so well. We just have a ball and that’s the most important part of a relationship.”
