Liam Hemsworth’s Sister-in-Law Elsa Pataky Says He ‘Deserves Much Better’ Amid Miley Cyrus Split
Family always has your back. As Liam Hemsworth recovers from his tumultuous relationship with Miley Cyrus, his sister-in-law Elsa Pataky is there to support him and thinks he will move on to bigger and better things.
“My brother-in-law, well … After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well. He’s a strong boy and he deserves the best, I think he deserves much better,” the 43-year-old told Hola! at the launch of the Christmas campaign for lingerie brand Women’s Secret on Wednesday, November 20.
Elsa noted Liam, 29, has found comfort in his brother and her husband, Chris Hemsworth. “You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed,” she said, adding Liam will join the family for Christmas in Australia.
Last December, Liam spent his holidays a little differently and tied the knot with Miley, 26, in an intimate ceremony in Nashville. Less than a year later, the two called it quits in August after ten years of dating.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Miley told Us Weekly at the time. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of the animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Since the two split, Liam has been spotted getting chummy with model Maddison Brown. “Liam and Maddison met recently in L.A. and just hit it off,” the source told In Touch exclusively back in October. “They have a lot in common — being a fellow Aussie, [being] actors, [being] family-oriented and loving the beach are just a few. It’s a totally natural fit, and they get on really well.”
As for Miley, the starlet went on to have a brief fling with The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter before moving on to Cody Simpson. It seems like Liam and Miley’s split was the right move for everyone.
