Josie Bates Throws Shade at Lauren Swanson for Copying a Baby Photo She Took
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Josie Balka (née Bates) doesn’t seem that flattered. Over the Christmas holidays, fans noticed that Lauren Duggar (née Swanson) posted a picture of her daughter, Bella, that was almost identical to one the Bringing Up Bates star posted of her daughter, Willow. They were quick to call the Counting On star out — and they weren’t alone. When Josie saw the shady Instagram comment, she seemed to join in by ‘liking’ what they wrote.
“Someone is excited about Christmas being two sleeps away!! ✨🎄” Josie, 20, captioned an adorable photo of her daughter lying underneath the Christmas tree. “So perfect,” Lauren, 20, commented on the photo, adding a heart-eyes emoji. The Duggar in-law must’ve been telling the truth, because, just one day later, she posted a near-identical one on her own account. The picture wasn’t only framed the same, it even featured the two babies wearing pretty much the same outfit — a onesie, fur vest and a headband with a bow.
When a fan saw that, they called Lauren out. “Seems you liked it so much you decided to take almost exactly the same picture,” they wrote, adding an eye-rolling emoji. Other fans liked the comment in agreement. Before long, Josie joined in, which didn’t go unnoticed by her followers. “@josie_balka nonchalantly throwing shade,” one commented with a laughing-crying emoji.
Lately, it seems like Lauren is facing shade from all sides. Just before Christmas, husband Josiah Duggar‘s older sister Jill Dillard (née Duggar) proved that she’s still tight with his ex. As the mother of two showed off her hair transformation after “chopping off” a bunch of her long locks, Marjorie Jackson popped up in the comments to share some compliments. When Jill saw the hearts she left in response to her new ‘do, she thanked her “friend” for the well-wishes.
And Jill isn’t the only sister still in touch with Josiah’s ex. Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) is also tight with the artist. She even reached out to commission a present from her for Jeremy Vuolo‘s birthday in 2018.
