Just six months after Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson suffered a devastating miscarriage, they’re shutting down rumors they’re expecting a rainbow baby. The Counting On stars took to Instagram on Thursday, April 18, to respond to a fan.

“So, I hear you guys are expecting a ‘rainbow baby.’ Congrats … ” someone commented on a photo of a recipe the couple shared. In response, Si, 22, and Lauren, 19, simply wrote, “Someone just made that up.” Another, however, slammed the commenter for their post. “Has no one taught you manners or respect? You do not ever say something like this to someone you do not know based off an Internet rumor. It can be very hurtful. You never ask a woman when she’s due unless she tells you personally she’s pregnant, never ask a woman why she doesn’t have children, you don’t want to know the answer and she doesn’t want to to tell you. Most times it is best to just mind your own business.”

In Febraury, the pair revealed the heartbreaking news via TLC. “A couple months ago, we found out that we were expecting, but suddenly thereafter, we lost our baby,” Lauren said in the clip. Josiah added, “It really was a hard time for our family going through this right after we got married. And all the dreams of getting to see our little one and hold it in our hands dashed before our eyes.”

The duo, who got married in June, wanted to tell their story because “nobody really talks about it,” Lauren said. “We just wanted to let y’all know that you’re not alone.”

Their experience has already been shown on the newest season of the show. “I couldn’t believe it, and I was hoping it wasn’t true,” Lauren said through tears on a recent episode. “It was the worst day of my life, really.”

Our thoughts go out to Lauren, Josiah and the rest of the Duggars during this difficult time.
