He misses his lady. Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman may still be wrapped up in the family drama surrounding his new relationship with girlfriend Moon Angell, but there are some moments where all he can think about is Beth Chapman. On Sunday, February 2, the Dog the Bounty Hunter alum took to social media to reflect on all of the good times that he shared with his late wife.

Sharing a photo of them taken behind-the-scenes while filming Dog’s Most Wanted, the show that captured the last few days of Beth’s life as well as the aftermath surrounding her death, Duane, 67, took a moment to remember Mrs. Dog. “I sure miss you today!!” he told his late wife on Instagram, speaking directly to her in the photo caption.

The star posted the photo on his birthday, the first one he’s celebrated since Beth’s death in June 2019. Though the reality personality was showered with all kinds of good wishes, it was clear there was only one person he really wanted to hear from. Luckily, he’s not alone. Dog has credited his new girlfriend with supporting him through such a tough time.

“I am a lot happier with her around,” he said on the Dr. Oz Show. Though he previously denied dating her, he’s been open about the fact that he’s needed someone special in his life. “[Moon] has just been so good to me,” he told Radar Online in January. “I’ll get really emotional and find myself getting into a dark hole and she will tell me to suck it up. So it’s been good having her by my side.”

Noting that he’s “the kind of guy that has to have a woman around,” he explained that Beth will always be in his heart, but he’s ready to get back into the dating pool. “There will never another Mrs. Dog,” he said. “But I have to find a way to move on. I’m so lonely right now. I’m just really lonely.”

But not everyone is supportive of his new relationship. Daughter Lyssa Chapman has spoken out publicly against her dad’s girlfriend on more than one occasion, bashing both her dad and Moon on social media. On January 30, she was even arrested for harassment and resisting arrest. That same day, however, she seemed to hint that she was ready to move on from the feud. Though she didn’t publicly wish her dad a happy birthday, she did hint that she doesn’t hate him or his girlfriend.

“Tupac once said, ‘Just because you lost me as a friend doesn’t mean you gained me as an enemy. I’m bigger than that. I still wanna see you eat, just not at my table,'” read a quote she shared on Instagram. “That hit home.”
