Our hearts go out to the Chapman family during this difficult time. On Wednesday, June 26, beloved reality TV star Beth Chapman passed away at just 51 years old after losing her battle with cancer. Chapman was best known for starring alongside her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman, on the popular shows Dog the Bounty Hunter, Dog and Beth: On the Hunt and Dog’s Most Wanted. Her husband is the one that broke the news to fans through a heartfelt statement shared to Twitter.

“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” he wrote. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head Mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

The news of Chapman’s death comes just four days after she was admitted into the ICU at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 22, where she was placed under a medically induced coma. Duane took to social media to ask fans to pray for his wife. “Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you,” Dog, 66, tweeted on Sunday, June 23.

Chapman was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in September 2017. After she underwent cancer removal surgery and chemotherapy, she became cancer-free in December of that year. Beth maintained her cancer-free diagnosis for nearly a year, but she was rushed to the hospital again in November 2018 and had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening blockage in her throat. Shortly after her surgery, she learned that her cancer had returned and she has been receiving treatment for the disease since December 2018.

But all throughout her cancer battle, Beth never lost her positive spirit. She still worked with Dog, 66, on his bounty hunting business and together, they continued to travel around the country in search of fugitives while filming for their WGN show, Dog’s Most Wanted. In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Dog opened up about his wife’s determination to live her life the way she intended to right up until the end.

“She has told me repeatedly that if these are her last days on earth she wants to spend every moment with me on the hunt, living life to the fullest and enjoying the time we have left together,” Dog said.
