What Dress Code? Jana Duggar Enjoys a Day on the Lake in a Tank Top and Shorts: ‘Needed This’
Another one! Counting On star Jana Duggar turned heads as she broke her family’s dress code, yet again, and sported a pair of shorts and a shoulder-baring tank top for a fun-filled day on Beaver Lake.
“There isn’t much that compares to lake days in the summer! I needed this fresh air more than ever,” the older Duggar daughter, 30, captioned an Instagram photo of herself in a tank top and boardshorts cut above the knee as she looked out into the horizon on Sunday, August 23. “We literally stayed out until the sun went down! #makingmemories #beaverlake #lakehairdontcare,” she added. Jana posted a few other photos of friends enjoying a ride on a jet ski and tubing on the man-made reservoir located in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas.
This isn’t the first time the brunette beauty has strayed away from her family’s usual attire. On August 15, she stepped out in a pair of pants for a fun day with her niece Grace Duggar. Although Jana was worn pants for physical activities in the past, it appears she is making the garment one of her wardrobe staples.
It looks like Jana is following in the footsteps of some of her younger sisters who are transitioning from modest skirts and dresses to curve-hugging slacks. Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) was the first daughter to take the plunge and started wearing pants and jeans when she married husband Jeremy Vuolo. Additionally, Jill Dillard (née Duggar) also started to rock pants and shorts after she tied the knot with husband Derick Dillard.
Typically, the Duggar girls wait until marriage before they start to make their own fashion rules, but Jana has always challenged the norm in her family. Despite being the oldest, she is the only daughter above the age of 22 who has yet to walk down the aisle. She still lives under Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s roof and even shares a room with her teenage and preteen sisters.
Jana doesn’t seem to mind breaking the mold. Although she feels “a little more pressure” to find a husband, she’s not “that worried,” Jana told Us Weekly in July. “Yes, I long to be married and one day I think that will come, but I think … I’m just also just trying to stay busy with whatever comes along my path.”
It looks like Jana is confident doing her own thing.
