90 Day Fiance’s Usman ‘SojaBoy’ Umar Suggests Angela and Michael ‘Work On’ Differences Amid Show Drama
90 Day Fiancé couple Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi’s opposing point of views nearly led her to call off their wedding in recent episodes of Happily Ever After?, but fellow TLC star Usman “SojaBoy” Umar says they should “work on” their differences and stay together in an exclusive statement to In Touch.
“From what I know, the Angela you see on screen is the same person,” the rapper exclusively tells In Touch. Usman, 30, praises the Georgia resident for speaking her mind when it comes to her expectations, and says they are overall a great match.
“Michael is a good person as well, I’m not saying this [because] he is a Nigerian like I am, but [because] I’ve seen it and know that for sure,” he continues.
“Angela is trying as well, and she [seems] to be a better person when it comes to social media, [because] she doesn’t go [around] dragging fans who like or dislike them [as a couple],” the Before the 90 Days alum adds. “Let’s keep watching and see how everything goes with them. I wish them all the best in their relationship.”
Angela, 54, and Michael, 31, went to marriage counseling in Nigeria ahead of their nuptials in the August 16 episode, and they later debated about Angela letting Michael take the lead role in their relationship. She refused to be a “submissive” wife and told his loved ones they would have to respect their 50/50 dynamic as a married couple because he would eventually be moving to America if all went according to plan.
After his aunt Lydia questioned if they were compatible, Angela decided to set up a sit-down meeting with Michael’s mom to address some concerns during another scene that aired on August 23. The season 5 star explained to her mother-in-law that she wanted to be viewed as Michael’s equal and asked if that was going to be an issue. If it was, Angela was willing to cancel their wedding and move on.
“There is no problem since that is what you want,” Michael’s mom said to him. Angela also addressed her worries that she couldn’t “tote a baby” in the future. Fortunately, her mother-in-law still gave “consent” and blessing to the duo, even though she was “sad” they might not be able to naturally expand their family with children.
SojaBoy has faith the couple will overcome their obstacles!
