90 Day Fiance’s Julia Questions Getting Married After Brandon’s Mom Pushes Them to Use Protection
Too much too soon? Julia Trubkina questioned if she wanted to marry Brandon Gibbs after his mother, Betty, voiced her concerns about them having unprotected sex in the new episode of 90 Day Fiancé, which aired on Sunday, December 13.
The drama started after Julia, 26, and Brandon, 27, sat down for dinner with his parents, Ron and Betty, following the Russia native’s arrival to America.
At one point in the conversation, Betty let Julia know she and Brandon wouldn’t be allowed to share a bedroom while staying with them for the time being. Julia was shocked to hear about their living “situation” and she gave her husband-to-be an opportunity to speak up by asking him what he thought about it. “I don’t like it,” he said, to which Betty replied, “Our house. Our rules.”
Brandon’s response clearly rubbed Julia the wrong way, but he stuck to it. “I think it sucks but, yeah, I understand it,” he noted afterwards. “It’s y’all’s house.”
Julia joked they should rush to tie the knot so they can sleep together without any rules or guidelines, which segued into the awkward kids’ discussion. “You guys don’t want children right away, right?” Betty asked at the table.
Julia revealed they would ideally expand their family in two or three years and said they had no plans to hurry it along. However, Brandon’s mom wanted them to ensure they would take proper steps by using birth control or contraceptives.
“This is my life and [his] life,” Julia told producers. “This is not life for parents.”
Later on, Julia and Brandon talked privately in their hotel room. She called him out for not taking a stand at dinner and said she would have gladly done so if the situation was reversed. Even so, Brandon noted it was a way to compromise.
“My mother is really helping us out. She wants to be a little involved … I don’t really see anything wrong with that,” Brandon said in his confessional. “We kind of owe her. She did just pay for [Julia’s] flight over.”
Julia revealed his omission about their sleeping arrangements made her wonder about their future together while sharing her thoughts in a private confessional. “We don’t need to marry if him start lie me more, more, more,” she said.
Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8/7c on TLC.
