’90 Day Fiance’ Star Jay Shares Sweet Tribute to Estranged Wife Ashley on Mother’s Day

On April 25, In Touch confirmed that Ashley, 32, filed for divorce from Jay for the second time — just one month before what would have been their 1 year wedding anniversary.

The couple documented the downfall of their relationship on season 4 of TLC’s hit spinoff, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Ashley and Jay were faced with issues very early on in their relationship. Before they tied the knot, Ashley was confronted by her best friend who claimed she heard that Jay was allegedly sleeping with two other women.

But Ashley chose not to believe the rumors, and she and Jay still continued with the K-1 visa process. Once he obtained his K-1, a.k.a. the fiancé visa, they traveled together from his native country of Jamaica to Ashley’s hometown in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania where they would start their lives together.

The couple planned a wedding in Pennsylvania, but they had to cancel their nuptials because they were getting threatening, racist comments on their wedding blog because they were an interracial couple in a very small town.

Then, Jay and Ashley jetted off to Las Vegas where they eloped within the K-1 visa’s 90-day time frame, but it wasn’t happily ever after.

The day after they returned back home from Las Vegas, Ashley caught Jay on Tinder and she found tons of inappropriate messages between him and other women.

Even though Jay did not physically cheat on Ashley, she claims he had planned to meet up with one of the women and it was enough to break her trust.

They weren’t able to work through their issues, and eventually, Ashley filed for divorce for the first time on January 11, 2019, but she had a change of heart and she withdrew the paperwork on January 22.

It seemed like they were ready to give their relationship one last chance, but Jay betrayed Ashley’s trust once again.

In April, she took to her Instagram Story to accuse Jay of cheating on her yet again. She filed for divorce the following week.

Since then, Jay and Ashley reunited three times — first, they both attended the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 4 premiere party on Sunday, April 28.

Then they reunited for a romantic wedding photo shoot on May 8, and they reunited once again on Mother’s Day weekend to film the season 4 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? tell-all in New York City.

It looks like Jay still cares very deeply for his estranged wife because of his heartfelt tribute to her on Mother’s Day.

“You are a kind, generous and loving human being, a strong woman, and one that I am lucky to know and proud to love. Happy Mother’s Day @ashleye_90,” Jay wrote.

Ashley responded to Jay’s sweet message in the comments. “Thanks, Jay!”

And some fans hoped that the couple would eventually work things out. “Hope you end up back together …” one fan wrote, and another commented, “It’s the struggles that make y’all stronger 🙌 I’m rooting for y’all to be together🤟.”
