There was a very good reason for the cross-country relocation! Sister Wives star Maddie Brown confirmed for her followers on Instagram why she and her husband, Caleb Brush, moved so far away from the Brown family. Her parents — Kody and Janelle Brown — and most of the rest of Maddie’s family live in Flagstaff, Arizona. That’s quite a ways from North Carolina, where she and her husband relocated along with their 2-year-old son, Axel.

Maddie, 23, shared a cute photo of the three of them on July 10 and wrote, “Brush Family Photos before we become a family of 4 💙.” (She and Caleb are expecting their second child, a girl, in August.) A fan asked in the comments, “Love this! Curious what made you guys move to NC?” The reality TV mama replied, “My husband got a job out here.” That’s definitely a practical reason to move that a lot of families deal with all the time.

The truth is, a lot of Kody’s older kids don’t live close to their parents or the rest of the family anymore. Meri and Kody’s daughter, Mariah Brown, and her fiancée, Audrey Kriss, live in Chicago, Illinois — halfway across the country. Aspyn Brown — one of Christine Brown‘s daughters — moved to Utah and away from her family with her husband, Mitch Thompson, in May. Janelle’s son Logan Brown stayed behind in the Las Vegas area after the rest of the family decided to give Arizona a shot.

There are sadly some big milestones that the rest of the Browns have to miss with Maddie and her little family living so far away. For instance, when Maddie and Caleb took to Instagram with a gender reveal for baby No. 2 on April 16, the reveal was held over Skype from their home to Flagstaff. Other family members from all over the country Skyped in for the big moment, too. Do you think any of them will make the trek to Maddie’s little corner of the world for the birth of her first daughter?
