Love is in the air! On season 13 of Sister Wives, viewers have had the chance to meet Mitch Thompson, Aspyn Brown’s fiancé. In real life, the couple is already married. But since Sister Wives is always a little bit behind what’s going on in the real world, fans are just now learning more about Mitch and watching as his and Aspyn’s wedding plans unfold. Let’s take a closer look at Aspyn’s guy, who the whole Brown family seems to already love.

Who is Mitch?

Mitch, 27, is Aspyn’s fiancé on this season of the reality show, but her husband in real life. According to TLC, he is “a longtime friend of the Sister Wives’ family.” He apparently grew up in both Seattle and the Utah Valley, and proposed to Aspyn, 23, in Seattle. On the show, viewers have met his mom, Hannah, and learned that she still lives in Seattle. TLC also reported that he’s a carpenter. Us Weekly confirmed in June 2018 that Mitch actually built the arch that the couple exchanged their marriage vows under.

How Did Mitch and Aspyn Meet?

The duo first met during a family party at Aspyn’s parents’ house. TLC announced their engagement in January 2018. It’s not totally clear how long the two were together before they decided to get married, but Mitch said in the video announcement of their engagement that they had been dating “for a long time” before he popped the question.

When Did Aspyn and Mitch Get Married?

Mitch and Aspyn got married on June 17, 2018. They said “I do” in front of about 120 guests at the La Caille restaurant in Sandy, UT. However, the thirteenth season of Sister Wives is the first time viewers have really had a chance to get to know Mitch, and the wedding still hasn’t been fully featured on the series.

We grabbed a quick picture of the family today. And no Jeff is not taller than me! But we were standing on an incline plus I’m in heels! We had a beautiful day! Congratulations to my baby brother on his big day! ♥️

Yes! Mitch’s oldest sister, Vanessa Alldredge, appears on Seeking Sister Wife on TLC along with her husband Jeff, Us Weekly reported. After they attended the wedding, Vanessa shared a family photo — seen above — from the event on Instagram captioned in part, “Congratulations to my baby brother on his big day! ♥️.” We guess there are only so many families out there connected to the Browns’ polygamous lifestyle and religion!

Is Mitch a Polygamist?

Both Mitch and Aspyn have said they do not wish to practice polygamy, even though they come from families that do. Aspyn’s father, Kody Brown, is famously married to four women — Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown (Aspyn’s biological mother) and Robyn Brown. Of course, anything could happen, but it seems like Aspyn and Mitch are going for a monogamous marriage. Sister Wives fans will just have to keep watching to see if either of them hints otherwise in the future!
