Teen Mom 2’s Kailyn Lowry Says Ex Chris Lopez ‘Won’t Commit,’ Admits She Needs to ‘Move On’
Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry reveals ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez “won’t commit” to her following their “roller-coaster” relationship in an exclusive interview with In Touch.
“He just [sic] doesn’t want to be with me,” the 28-year-old admits. “He doesn’t want to, you know, and, and that’s OK. Just, I need to get to a point where I fully move on and take it for what it is. So, I’ll take the blame for that.”
Although Kail accepts responsibility for continuing her on-and-off again relationship with Chris, 26, she says the “hardest thing” is handling the shade from those who question her choices. “People [who] are like, ‘She’s so stupid. She’s this, she’s that, that’s so dumb. Why would she do this? Why would she do that?’ And it’s like, unless you’re in a relationship like this or a toxic situation or with a narcissist or whatever the case may be, you can’t speak on it,” the reality star explains. “It’s hard for anyone to understand. Sometimes it’s hard for me to understand and that’s why I’m still in freakin’ therapy.”
The exes’ tumultuous relationship began in 2017 before they welcomed their first son, Lux, 3. Despite their highs and lows, the two went on to have baby No. 2, Creed, on July 30. Although Kailyn was adamant about not allowing Chris to attend the birth of their second child in previous weeks, she revealed on the August 13 episode of her podcast “Coffee Convos” she invited him the morning she went into labor. At the time, she said she hopes her kind gesture would help encourage the dad to “step up.”
Kailyn, who also shares son Isaac, 10, with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera, and son Lincoln, 6, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin, says she is done having expectations for her relationship with Chris. “I don’t think that there’s anything specific I would want out of it at this point,” she explains to In Touch. “I think I’m just trying to figure out how to do what I need to do without him and to continue doing what I do without him.”
