The former MTV star has been fighting in court for weeks after losing custody of three of her children after a CPS investigation following husband David Eason‘s dog killing incident. But now, the 27-year-old was finally able to spend time with her kids, Kaiser and Ensley, after they were removed from her home in May. Jenelle took tons of family photos at Kaiser’s fifth birthday party on Saturday, June 29. Scroll through the gallery below for pictures and details from the sweet family gathering.

In the comments, one fan said that it looked like the party took place at Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans‘ home. But Jenelle clarified that they were at Kaiser’s maternal grandmother’s home, the mother of Jenelle’s ex-fiancée and Kaiser’s father, Nathan Griffith. “No, actually we were at Nathan’s mom’s … with my mom and all the kids and Nathan/Ashley.”

Barbara also shared some photos from the day, including a picture of David and Nathan, 31, getting along and working together to set up some of the party decorations. In the comments, fans slammed her for allowing David to visit with the kids, and Barbara explained that the visit was pre-approved by the family’s lawyers.

“Ask Nathan’s and Jenelle’s lawyers, they set it up,” Barbara said. When another fan questioned Barbara and Nathan’s decision to allow this to happen, she simply responded, “The children always come first above anyone.”

Fans also took to Nathan’s Twitter mentions to complain about his decision to allow the mother and stepfather of his child to attend his birthday party, but he responded in a statement. “My children will always come first regardless of my own personal feelings. I will always want the best for my children. Happy Birthday Kaiser and I’m so glad you could spend it with FAMILY and friends! #WWJD #TeamGriffith #Lovemore #hateless,” he tweeted.

Nathan’s girlfriend, Ashley, also defended their decision. When a fan pointed out that Nathan was only doing the right thing as a coparent, she responded, “Y’all are out of control. At least somebody sees the bigger picture.”

Earlier this week, Jenelle spent four days in court to continue to fight for custody of three out of the five children whom she shares with David. Jenelle has Jace and Kaiser from previous relationships, while David has a daughter named Maryssa and a son named Kaden from previous relationships. They also have a biological daughter together, Ensley. But since Jenelle’s mom, Barbara, has custody of Jace and David doesn’t have custody of Kaden, only Maryssa, 11, Kaiser and Ensley were living with the couple at the time of David’s dog killing incident.

On April 29, David shot and killed the family’s dog, Nugget, on their property while Maryssa, Kaiser and Ensley were home. Shortly after the incident, CPS opened an investigation on Jenelle and David and on the week of May 15, they ordered that Maryssa, Kaiser and Ensley be removed from the home.

On May 28, after spending nearly a week in court, Jenelle lost temporary custody of her kids. A judge ruled that Jenelle failed “to protect” her children from the violent and potentially traumatizing experience, according to The Ashley.

But that didn’t stop her from continuing to fight for custody, and she showed up in court this week with David to continue their custody battle. A new judge was brought on to the case and Maryssa testified on the stand. But insiders previously revealed to Radar Online that their custody battle and case could take months before it’s finally resolved.
