It was a full house in court on Thursday, June 27, as Teen Mom 2 star Nathan Griffith was spotted attending a custody hearing for his ex Jenelle Evans, and her husband, David Eason. Cameras caught the father of Jenelle’s son Kaiser walking in for the second hearing this week, and he wasn’t alone. The star was joined by his girlfriend, Ashley Lanhardt. The couple showed up to court on Thursday, June 27, for what Radar Online reported was a pre-adjudication hearing. During this kind of hearing, the parents or guardians explain their case before a judge as the prosecutor evaluates whether or not a plea deal will be offered.

Fighting for Their Cause

If a plea deal can’t be reached, an adjudication hearing will follow wherein the prosecutor will then present their case to the judge. As the father of one of the kids involved, it’s possible that Nathan, 31, may testify.

Legal Troubles

However, considering the fact that his mother currently has custody of Kaiser — and that he and Jenelle are an opposing sides of this fight — it’s unlikely that he’s testified just yet. When CPS argues their side, he may be called then.

Throwing Shade

In the meantime, Nathan hasn’t exactly kept silent on the subject. While he and girlfriend Ashley have been spending time with his little boy, they’ve shared subtle drags of his ex on social media.

Love Lost

“About the cutest thing EVER!!!” the father of one captioned a video of his son and his girlfriend blowing kisses. “I love @a_lynn423 and how she treats Kaiser so good,” he continued. “He loves his Ashley. #smile #teamGriffith”

Alarming Allegations

In the past, Nathan has accused his ex and her husband of abusing the toddler, sharing graphic photos of bruises on the little boy’s bottom. “My son told me that he got hit by a stick,” the star wrote in January 2019.

Long-Standing Feud

The parents have been at odds for years. Back in September 2018, the Teen Mom 2 star called Jenelle a “habitual liar,” accusing her of “endangering” her children more than half a year before the current CPS investigation started.

Harsh Words

“[You] say the storm is a hoax, but then you drive around town in flood water, with the kids, endangering them,” Nathan tweeted during Hurricane Florence. “[You] say you have plenty of food, but then you get free food as you make over $300k per season. I could add on, but everyone sees that you’re a walking contradiction and a habitual liar.”

Legal Intervention

Of course, Kaiser isn’t the only kid involved. David’s daughter Maryssa and the Easons’ daughter, Ensley, were also removed from their home by CPS. In mid-May, a judge ordered that all the children in the house be taken from Jenelle and David’s custody.

Kids at Court

Maryssa, her grandmother and her mom all attended the hearing on the 27. They were joined by Maryssa’s half-sister Ensley and Ensley’s half-brother Jace, as well as Barbara Evans, who has permanent custody of the 9-year-old boy and temporary custody of the 2-year-old girl.

Hand-in-Hand

The two sisters held hands as they walked together into court. Grandma Babs held Ensley’s other hand. The Teen Mom 2 granny has been taking good care of the kids, and fans are glad to see it.

“[Ensley]’s smiling!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile!!” a fan commented on one of Babs’ photos. “I just want to say God Bless You and THANK YOU for saving Jace and Ensley,” said another. “You are a true angel. Ensley looks so happy and Jace always does when he’s with you. I’m sure it’s hard but you saved them from a toxic environment. Thank you again. ♥️”

Jenelle’s mom taking her kids in has come with a cost, though. The mom of three recently declared that her relationship with her mom was “destroyed” because of the court case.

Massive Fallout

The mother-daughter duo got into a major fight outside of the courthouse as the legal battle continued. “I do feel like my relationship with my mom is destroyed at this point,” Jenelle told Us Weekly afterwards.

“This isn’t a way a mother should be treating her daughter,” the star continued. “She fights so hard for my sister and my brother when they are the ones with major issues, not me.”

“I believe my mom is saying anything at this point to make herself feel better,” Jenelle alleged when Us asked about Barbs’ accusations that Jenelle had only hugged her daughter at court because there were cameras on them. “It might all boil down to jealousy.”

All or Nothing

At the end of the day, though, the case isn’t just focused on Ensley or Kaiser. “All children are involved in this case, not just one or the other,” said Jenelle. “In the end, either the three children will come home that live with us primarily [or not].”
