‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Brandon Scott Pops the Question to the ‘Girl of His Dreams’ and She Says Yes!
Congrats are in order! Brandon Scott had some exciting news to share with the world after his incredible weight loss success — he became engaged to longtime girlfriend, Tayler Kunce. The My 600-lb Life star revealed that he popped the question in a heartwarming Facebook update in June 2019.
“I never thought I’d see the day when I get to ask the girl of my dreams the most important question of my life! God is awesome, she said yes,” the season 7 fan-favorite wrote via social media at the time. As expected, several of his followers congratulated him on taking the next big step with their relationship.
Brandon previously revealed why he held off the proposal and it had to do with his struggles with obesity. “She’d be saying yes to being my caretaker,” Brandon said. “And that’s not fair to her.”
The couple revealed the details of their special milestone moment in an episode of TLC’s My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now in April 2021. Brandon and Tayler traveled to Chicago for a trip, where they would be joined by both of their families for the special proposal. The day of the proposal, the couple walked around the city and stopped by a local restaurant for lunch. Brandon had previously arranged for a personal sitting area to be set up in the courtyard on the grounds, complete with a keyboard so he could serenade his fiancée-to-be.
After Tayler was seated across from him on a comfy couch, Brandon sang an original song he wrote just for her. “Do know I prayed for your smile? For that alone, I died a million times. Do you know I love you? Will you be my wife,” he sang as their family members walked in and joined the special scene. Of course, she said yes!
The reality star previously tipped the scales at 718 pounds, and it really took a toll on his self-confidence. By staying focused, Brandon has managed to drop an impressive 335 pounds while his episode was filming, making him one of the biggest weight loss success stories of the season. On top of that, he has reportedly been shedding approximately 30 pounds per month since then.
Tayler stuck by his side through many of his obstacles, even when he had to make the long 1,200 mile journey from Columbus, Ohio, to Houston, Texas, to see Dr. Nowzaradan. Brandon was unfortunately dealing with lymphedema, which is swelling caused by a lymphatic system blockage, but he decided to push through the pain and make it happen. It only took Brandon two months to be approved for weight loss surgery, and now he looks like a new man.
The happy couple tied the knot on October 4, 2020.
