Get well soon! Duane “Dog” Chapman’s son, Leland Chapman, was reportedly hospitalized on Tuesday, July 9, after getting injured during his first manhunt in the wake of Beth Chapman’s death. The duo was tracking a person accused of domestic violence in Adams County, Colorado, and Leland ended up tearing his ACL while “taking down the suspect” that afternoon.

According to The Blast, a warrant had been issued for Edward Morales’ arrest on June 24 after he didn’t show up for a scheduled court hearing. Morales had been charged with domestic violence and had pleaded guilty to harassment back in June. After locating the suspect, Leland, 42, was one of the first men to arrive on the scene and the team “pounced” on Morales to make the arrest. During the ordeal, Leland tore a ligament in his knee and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

“The guy fought like hell,” one source revealed to the site, but the squad still managed to finish the job. Morales was reportedly booked into Adams County Jail later that evening.

Leland is set to have surgery next week, so he will likely be on crutches when he attends Beth’s memorial service in Colorado on Saturday, July 13. The ceremony will also be live streamed.

Beth tragically passed away on June 26 at the age of 51, after a long battle with throat cancer. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” Duane, 66, wrote while sharing the devastating news with the world on Twitter. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head Mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

Leland’s wife, Jamie, also recently took to Instagram with a heartfelt message about the beloved Dog’s Most Wanted star. “Thank you for everything. Absolutely everything,” she wrote about Beth. “I know you’re watching over us and will be with us wherever we go, but man I sure do miss you.”
