Counting On! Joseph Duggar’s Wife Kendra Is Pregnant, Couple Expecting Baby No. 3
And baby makes … five! Kendra Duggar is pregnant and expecting baby No. 3 with her husband, Joseph Duggar.
“We are so excited to announce that we have a tie-breaker coming in February. Baby No. 3 is on the way!” the Counting On stars told People. The couple are already parents to son Garrett David, 2, and daughter Addison Renee, 9 and 1/2 months.
“We are so excited to see Garrett and Addison’s reaction when they meet the new baby,” they gushed. “Garrett has already been such a loving big brother to Addison, and we look forward to Addison’s reaction to a life-size baby doll.”
The pair got married on September 8, 2017, shortly after Kendra’s 19th birthday. At the time, Joe revealed their excitement about starting a family.
“It is an amazing feeling to be husband and wife,” he said. “It’s something that I’ve always dreamed of to have a wife and to raise a family in a way that honors the Lord. We are very excited to see what God has in the future for us.”
They welcomed their first child just nine months after their wedding, which raised questions from fans. “Baby was born exactly [nine] months from their wedding date. Kinda suspicious,” someone tweeted at the time, while another user wrote, “All the grandchildren (the first ones of each couple at least) minus Jinger [Duggar]‘s child are wedding night babies.”
The Duggar family practices a conservative version of dating called courting. Kisses are banned until marriage and physical contact is limited to “side-hugs,” so premarital sex is definitely out of the question, and it would be a huge scandal if a Duggar kid were to have sex before marriage.
The baby news came just weeks after Kendra’s mother-in-law, Michelle Duggar, responded to concerns over her whereabouts.
“Haven’t seen Kendra in a while!” they commented on photos from Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) and Austin Forsyth‘s baby shower. “Is she alright?” That’s when Jim Bob and Michelle stepped in to assure fans there was no reason to worry. “She’s doing great!” they wrote on the family Instagram.
