A good night all around! Jennifer Aniston was “floating on cloud 9” after her run-in with ex Brad Pitt at the 2020 SAG Awards on Sunday, January 19, an eyewitness tells In Touch exclusively. The actress, who won a SAG Award for her role in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, “couldn’t stop smiling” when she came into the press room shortly after talking to him backstage.

“She was cracking jokes with reporters,” the eyewitness explains. “Reporters were commenting that this was the happiest they’ve ever seen her, the best mood they ever witnessed from the typically press-shy, more closed off Jen.”

It all started after Jen, 50, won the SAG for Female Actor in a Drama Series. She went up to the stage to accept her award and delivered an extremely emotional speech. During her time on stage, Brad, 56, stopped in his tracks backstage to watch on a TV monitor.

According to a video clip posted to Twitter, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star seemed to say, “Oh, wow,” as she spoke. It’s unclear if Jen’s stunning appearance in her gorgeous white gown caught his eye, or if he was moved by her speech, but it was clear he was extremely proud and supportive of her in that moment.

As if that wasn’t sweet enough for fans to witness, the exes shared yet another tender moment. According to photos obtained by In Touch, Jen and Brad crossed paths backstage right after her win. In one shot, it seems as though they were congratulating each other and they looked like they were inches away from hugging. In a second shot, Brad gently held on to Jen’s left hand and looked at her as she walked away from him.

Of course, Jen is just as supportive of Brad. Earlier in the evening, Brad won the SAG Award for Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Jen smiled from the crowd — which is exactly how she reacted when he accepted his award for Best Supporting Actor in Any Motion Picture at the 2020 Golden Globes on January 5.

“Jen was all smiles. She told me directly that she had a great evening,” an insider previously told In Touch at the time. “She didn’t seem to care about not winning. Her eyes welled up with emotion when Brad won.”
