They seem to be doing better these days. Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans shared a photo of herself with her husband, David Eason, on her Instagram Story on July 23, and included a somewhat surprising hashtag on the shot. She implied that the couple is doing great in the wake of the dog killing incident that landed them without temporary custody of their kids for many weeks. Check out the gallery below to learn more.
As most Teen Mom fans likely know, Jenelle, 27, and David, 31, found themselves in hot water after David was accused of shooting and killing Nugget, his wife’s French bulldog.

On Defense
After the incident, David defended his actions. “I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face. … Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog, and I don’t put up with that s–t at all,” the star wrote on Instagram on May 1.

All About It
“I’m all about protecting my family,” he continued. “It is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for, and my family means that much to me.”

Judgment
“You can hate me all you want, but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively,” the former reality TV star added. “The only person that can judge [whether] or not [an] animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

Done
In the wake of the incident, MTV decided to cut all ties with Jenelle. “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since,” an MTV spokesperson told Us Weekly in May. “Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019, and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”

Kids
After the death of Nugget, David and Jenelle went through an intense custody battle when they temporarily lost custody of their children. Together, the couple has five kids. Jenelle has two from previous relationships — Jace and Kaiser —and David has two from previous relationships, Kaden and Maryssa. They share Ensley, the youngest.

Removed
Jenelle didn’t have custody of Jace, 9, at the time of the incident — her mother, Barbara Evans, did — and David didn’t have custody of Kaden. However, Kaiser, 4, Ensley, 2, and Maryssa, 11, were removed by CPS.

Changing the Story
Later, Radar Online reported that Jenelle “advised that she was inside with her children at the time of the alleged event … She advised that she never heard or saw anything to indicate that David shot her dog.”

IDK
“I don’t know if she was shot or killed or not,” the reality TV personality allegedly told police officers. Radar added that she claimed that she filed the animal cruelty report for publicity because she “did not know where her dog was.”

Changes
But David seemingly admitted to the crime on social media. Who knows what really happened to Nugget, or whether the story might change again.

Appearances?
In spite of all of that, David and Jenelle’s relationship seems to be going strong. Or at least, that’s how they make it seem online.

Over It
She continued, “Now that we are getting over this incident our relationship has got a lot stronger. David has completed anger management as well.”
