Overcoming heartbreak. 90 Day Fiancé star Fernanda Flores is finally opening up about her split with Jonathan Rivera, months after their separation was announced to the world. The TLC alum seemingly revealed the reason for their breakup in the comment section of her new Instagram post shared on May 28. When a fan addressed her fizzled romance with estranged husband Jonathan, Fernanda replied and explained how women shouldn’t have to endure a “lack of respect and abuse” just because a man is a provider. “They are divorced. Such [a] good man he was. Who would not want to have a man who is a provider? But then [again], I saw her wanting [to be in the streets],” read the fan’s comment, which was translated from Spanish to English.

“You have to learn that not because man is ‘providing,’ we have to endure the lack of respect and abuse. Learn, women, that we can provide [for ourselves],” Fernanda replied.

Earlier this year, Jonathan shared his side of the story about why they parted ways. “My feelings for Fernanda were real and Fernanda’s feelings for me were real. Fernanda’s not a gold digger,” he told In Touch.

“Fernanda didn’t come here for a green card,” Jonathan added. “What happened was things change, things change and people change and I can’t help that.”

Since then, he’s gone public with a new flame. Jonathan went Instagram official with the mystery woman in May and he hasn’t shown her face online yet “out of respect.”
