She’s learning how to conquer her struggles. Loren Brovarnik opened up about having Tourette Syndrome while making an appearance at TLC’s Summer of Love celebration in New York City. The 90 Day Fiancé star first informed fans about her neurological disorder three years ago, after being flooded with cruel comments online about her symptoms on the hit reality show. When Loren first appeared on the show, she tried to keep her Tourette Syndrome twitches a secret throughout season 1, but it eventually was revealed.

Dealing With Symptoms
Tourette’s causes ticks which are repetitive, involuntary movements as well as sounds. Loren was diagnosed at seven years old and she’s had to learn how to adapt.

The Reveal
As viewers may recall, Loren was not a happy camper when her husband, Alexei Brovarnik, told his mother about it. “I tried to hide it as much as I could from the cameras,” the 30-year-old said while holding back tears.

Cruel Comments
“People noticed and I think that made it worse — and let me tell you, people are mean. People are very, very mean. They are so quick to judge,” Loren said in 2016.

Making a Difference
After it was brought to light, she decided to become an advocate who raises awareness about the nervous system disorder. Loren now proudly serves as an ambassador for the Tourette Association of America.

The TLC alum also recalled the moment where she first told the world about it. “I remember just saying, ‘I have Tourette Syndrome,’ and I was like, oh shoot I can’t take it back now,” she recalled.

Luckily, she has no regrets about it at all! “It’s the best experience I’ve had, just letting it go,” Loren dished.

Loren exudes more confidence than ever and it has to due with her positive mindset. “I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” she revealed.

Of course, her husband, Alexei, 30, is just as thrilled to see her comfortable in her own skin. “I think it was great because it did set her free,” he shared about her reveal.

Heart of Gold
Loren said that people have called her an inspiration, but she addressed how her intentions are really to help others. “I suffer with it and I wanted to bring awareness to it that people don’t really understand,” she dished.

Baby Plans
During a new episode of the popular spinoff What Now?, Loren and Alexei mentioned how there is a 50/50 chance that their children could be born with Tourette Syndrome. Obviously if it does happen, he or she would be surrounded by love.

Looking Ahead
With everything going on in their lives, Loren and Alexei said they have decided to wait until August 2020 to expand their family. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this couple!
