She’s speaking out! After rumors surrounded Britney Spears‘ decision to check herself into a wellness center in early April, the singer is breaking her silence. Over the Easter weekend, the star was spotted looking worse for wear, but she’s reassuring her fans that “all is well.” In a video shared to her Instagram account on Tuesday, April 23, she addressed her followers directly both on camera and in the post caption.

“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me,” she said in the clip. “All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal, but don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.” In the caption, she continued, “I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said.”

I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear. These fake emails everywhere were crafted by Sam Lutfi years ago… I did not write them. He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address. My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment 🌸🌸🌸 You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you ❤️❤️❤️

After the singer’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spearsstood up for her on Instagram on April 22, Britney mirrored her confidence. “You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!” she shared in the post. “Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. Back in March 2019, the singer’s lawyer resigned from her conservatorship, and a month later, she checked herself into the wellness facility with encouragement from her mom. With ex Kevin Federline stepping up to help out and taking care of their sons full-time, Britney was free to focus on herself. Of course, she was still getting visits from her kids and boyfriend, Sam Asghari, who has been sticking by her side through it all. He even voiced his continuing care in the comments of the post. “Sometimes showing respect and privacy is the best support people can offer,” he wrote. “#bestfans.”
