Do not mess with Jamie Lynn Spears! After her older sister, Britney Spears, checked into a mental health facility earlier this month, the Zoey 101 alum is defending the pop star against social media trolls.
“10 years ago, who was there?? I have been here long before anyone else, and I’ll be here long after,” she captioned a video of herself on Instagram — taken a decade ago — walking with her sister while paparazzi swarmed them on Monday, April 22. “I love my sister with everything I have. So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don’t understand. Do not come for me or the ones I love anymore.”
She added, “You can move the ‘blank’ outta here with all that, just like this other lady who was running her mouth.” In the clip, someone shouted, “Nobody wants you in this neighborhood,” and immediately, the 28-year-old quipped, “Well, then move the f–k out.”
As In Touch previously reported, the 37-year-old checked into the facility on April 3 amid her father’s health battle. She told fans in a heartfelt message via social media that her father’s colon ruptured, and he almost died. “Britney was losing it. She’s not coping with the fact that her dad isn’t going to make it. She had a breakdown,” an insider exclusively told In Touch. They added that Jamie Spears “actually convinced her to check into a place.”
Following the news, many fans formed the unfounded belief that she is being held against her will and started protesting — in front of City Hall in West Hollywood and online — with the hashtag #FreeBritney. Clearly, this is not true, hence why Jamie Lynn debunked those silly rumors.
“Britney and Sam came out of The Montage a little after 5 p.m. They had been there all day together,” an observer told In Touch. “Everyone has been saying that she was held against her will at the facility, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. We know they spent all day there and believe she may have gone back to the facility afterward. It seems like she was just getting out and having a break, and it seems to be working.”
The blonde bombshell took to Instagram on April 3 to reveal that she was taking a much-needed break. “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time,’” the caption read. “Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind. Body. Spirit.”
It seems like her family is there for her through thick and thin. We hope you get better soon, Brit!
