Anna Duggar Just Invented the ‘Arkansas Sushi Roll’ and Her Fans Are Seriously Into It: ‘That’s Genius!’
The Duggars may not be known for their cooking skills, but Anna Duggar just might be proving that wrong. On April 4, the former 19 Kids and Counting star changed the sushi game when she decided to invent a roll of her own — and her fans are pretty much obsessed. Though the mom-of-five isn’t a fan of raw fish, it seems she’s been getting a little jealous of Jill Duggar‘s sushi dates and DIY sushi dinners. But instead of trying to figure out a roll that worked for her, she got a little creative. Now, she’s introducing all of her followers to her Arkansas roll.
“If you’re familiar with sushi, you know about the California roll,” she wrote on her Instagram. “How about the Arkansas roll?!?! I’m not a fan of uncooked fish or crab (or whatever constitutes imitation crab) so I took some leftover grilled chicken and added some spicy Yum Yum sauce — and bam. It was delicious!” She enlisted her oldest daughter to help with the prep work after getting a lesson from Aunt Jill, and it wasn’t long before the family had a new recipe that fans will actually want to try themselves.
“Best of all, Mackynzie loves to roll up some amazing sushi, so I have a feeling our family will be enjoying some Arkansas Sushi Rolls quite a bit in the near future!” Anna, 30, shared with her followers. She even shared the ingredients and the directions — although the instructions pretty much boil down to “roll & enjoy” like Anna said. But in case you need a visual aid, she also posted a clip of Mackynzie at work as the third slide of the Instagram album.
If your mouth is watering watching it, you’re not alone. Fans went wild over the roll in the comments, writing, “Love your creativity Anna! I don’t like raw fish either! Yucky!! These Arkansas rolls are right up my alley!” and, “This is genius.” They were excited to give the recipe a try in their own homes — and so was Jill. “Yay!! So fun!! Good job @annaduggar and Kynzie!!” she wrote. “I need to do [that] with the yum yum sauce! 👏🏼👍🏻”
