Jill Duggar Makes Derick Dillard Sushi, And For Once, Fans Are Begging For The Recipe
Well, this is a surprise! Jill Duggar of Counting On fame made her husband, Derick Dillard, some sushi, and fans actually want to know her recipe. Considering Jill usually makes dishes that don’t look all that appetizing and people definitely let her know when they aren’t into it, this must be a nice change for the 19 Kids and Counting alum.
On Dec. 23, Derick posted a photo of the sushi in question to Instagram, and wrote, “Dillard family Christmas tradition (as of 2018 😉 delicious homemade sushi my wonderful wifey @jillmdillard just whipped up for us! Thanks babe!” And fans were divided; some were into it, and others accused the couple of stealing a photo of sushi off Google, though we couldn’t find an identical photo to prove their theory correct. Whether or not Jill made this exact sushi roll (and honestly, how many sushi chefs would have an Arkansas cutting board anyway?), Derick did share more photos of Jill in their kitchen with sushi and all the fixin’s to make it. So clearly, the Dillards had a sushi meal within the last few days. And that’s a step up from many of Jill’s usual recipes.
Fans who were all for Jill delving into the world of sushi replied with comments like, “Do a video making sushi!!” and “Yum that looks great, I love sushi too.” One person responded, “New traditions are just as fun! I hope your children learn to love sushi also!” But really, there’s just as much of a chance that Jill and Derick’s sons, Israel and Samuel, will love any and all canned food since that’s what Jill seems to cook with the most often.
Derick posted a photo back on Aug. 25 indicating that he went on a sushi date with Jill, so this isn’t a totally new culinary adventure for the couple. But it’s at least a little more exciting than tater tot casserole, so we’re going to go ahead and give Jill points for giving sushi a shot. At least she’s branching out!
