No kids allowed! Recently, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard headed out for a very special date night, leaving sons Israel and Samuel at home with “Mima,” Derick’s mom. Though the couple’s usual spot seems to be at MarketPlace Grill so they can get one of those Chocolate Mess desserts all the Duggars are so obsessed with, this time they decided to branch out and grab some sushi instead. “Getting some much-needed date time with this pretty woman!” Derick wrote, posting a picture of them at the table on his Instagram.

How sweet! The cutest part is that it seems the couple also inspired Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald to do the same. They posted an Instagram story last night at another sushi restaurant, showing off the rolls they were chowing down on as they had their own sushi night. It seems the Duggars sure has come a long way from when they first took a trip to Tokyo, Japan and tried sushi for the first time.

Back in 2013, 19 Kids and Counting saw the family not only learning how to make sushi rolls, but also experimenting with trying the raw fish themselves. And some of them weren’t exactly thrilled about the experience — though that’s hardly surprising considering how awkward all the family members are when they travel abroad. “The only time I’ve ever seen tuna is eating it right out of the can. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a real live tuna, or I guess a dead tuna,” Jim Bob Duggar told cameras. “I didn’t want to offend them so I tasted it.”

When it came to her turn, though, Michelle Duggar couldn’t be similarly convinced. “When it comes to raw fish I prefer to cook it first and then eat it. Otherwise raw fish belongs in the refrigerator or the freezer,” she said. We’re glad to see that at least some of them have come around. As for the rest of them, well, there’s always time for them to see the light and discover just how good a little sashimi can be.
