It doesn’t appear the road is getting any easier for 90 Day Fiancé star Karine Staehle (née Martins) amid her strained marriage with estranged husband Paul Staehle. The TV personality shared a quote about staying “strong” while facing adversity after they were both granted restraining orders against each other.

“A strong woman may remain silent when people talk behind her back,” the 23-year-old posted via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 19. “But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t notice. It simply means she chooses not to waste her energy on foolishness. She has more important things to do.”

The Happily Ever After? star and her spouse, 35, seem to be on the verge of a split following their apparently hostile dispute which he documented in a now-deleted Instagram Live on July 30. Paul alleged the feud started after he noticed her reaching out to a Brazilian lawyer to inquire about “child support and divorce.”

Her restraining order was granted by a judge on July 31, and Paul’s was granted on August 1. They now must remain 500 feet away from each other, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. As for their 17-month-old son, Pierre, both parents were granted temporary custody of their child until further notice. A judge will later decide which parent gets permanent legal and physical custody.

Paul hasn’t been posting as much on social media after revealing he “regretted” not “keeping [their] marital problems private” in a statement on Instagram Stories. The TLC alum said the agony he felt was unbearable, adding “I regret taking for granted my family would be together forever.”

It’s speculated Karine is pregnant with their second child, and he seemingly confirmed she was expecting in the same statement. “I never want to date or remarry to ever feel this pain again. To not be a part of your childrens’ life, born and unborn, is beyond painful,” the Other Way alum continued.

Unfortunately, they have just as much tension on the 90DF spinoff. Paul and Karine argued over the house he purchased after she relocated from Brazil to the United States in a recent episode. Paul explained he could only afford so much on his limited income and was trying his hardest to support their family, but she felt her quality of life had taken a major hit upon her arrival to the U.S.

“I thought that being in America, my ideal home would have about two bedrooms, and have space, a kitchen, and a big yard where the baby could play and run,” she said during the July 12 episode of Happily Ever After? “And if Paul doesn’t find a beautiful house, Pierre and I will go to Brazil without him.”
