90 Day Fiance: The Other Way’s Jenny Returns to India Without Seeing Proof of Sumit’s Divorce Papers
Following her heart. Jenny Slatten returned to India without seeing proof of Sumit’s divorce on the Monday, June 15, episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The TV personality took a leap of faith and hopped on a flight from Palm Springs, California, to reunite with her beau and his family members.
Jenny, 61, didn’t seem too concerned about the lack of receipts, noting she had not seen the documents yet because Sumit, 32, wasn’t able to get a hold of his lawyer due to a holiday.
Even though she had full faith in him, her daughter wasn’t so trusting because she feared Sumit could still be stringing her mother along after all this time.
“I love him and he’s who I want to be with and I do trust him,” Jenny said in response. “I’m willing to take the chance and try one more time.”
The TLC alum explained why she was giving her romance with Sumit another go in the confessional. She pointed out it is a “big deal” to file for divorce in his country considering “arranged marriage is part of their culture” and is “tradition.”
“By doing that, he’s proving to me that I’m the one he loves. It’s me. He’s chosen me. It’s gonna work out and this time we’re gonna get married I know it for sure,” the season 2 star further explained. “I’m taking a very tremendous risk to leave my daughters and my grandkids and know that I’m putting them through a lot. That’s what makes this move even more of a sacrifice.”
Jenny said she’s willingly “putting everything” she has into making their relationship work because “this is [her] last chance at happiness.”
Unfortunately, Sumit also got the same pushback from his loved ones. They don’t approve of the couple’s nearly 30-year age gap, but his brother agreed to talk to his parents in hopes they will give the duo their blessing.
Sumit is still eager to get his family’s approval, but the star revealed he is going to choose Jenny over them if they don’t start coming around soon.
