In limbo. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Sumit confirmed he is still in the process of getting a divorce from his wife, nearly eight months after announcing their separation. The season 2 alum shared an update about his marriage on the June 8 premiere of the TLC spinoff.

“My in-laws finally agreed for a mutual divorce,” the TV personality shared. “Now I’m planning once again to bring Jenny [Slatten] back in my life.”

Sumit revealed his parents are helping out because they love him and don’t wish for him to remain in a “bad [arranged] marriage.” Even so, his relatives are not fans of his blossoming romance with Jenny.

Although his family members have their reservations about his new relationship, Sumit is gung-ho about tying the knot with his long-distance love. “When I finally get divorced, like straight away, I gotta marry Jenny,” he said. This time, he said there will be “no hiding” and “no lies.”

On the other hand, Jenny hinted this may be the last chance she gives her beau to make things right. “If Sumit isn’t being truthful about his ability to get a divorce, if he lies to me again, that’s the worst thing he could do to me at this point. I don’t deserve that,” the Palm Springs resident said, sharing how much she still loves him. “If it doesn’t work this time, that will destroy me.”

Last season, Jenny left him behind in India after finding out he was already married. It also didn’t help she had an extremely awkward interaction with his bride.

“Jenny going back to the U.S. like probably that was the hardest day of my life,” Sumit admitted on the season 2 premiere. “Only thing that has helped me to get through all this was Jenny. She always supports me.”

Sumit is ready to exchange vows again, but his legal battle seems to be far from over. “His wife is making accusations and claims,” Jenny said on the show. “She’s claiming he was hurting her and treating her bad. I’m worried about that because she was supposed to drop those charges as they came to a mutual agreement about the divorce, but she didn’t drop those charges.”

The reality star told Jenny his divorce would be completed within two months, but now it’s looking more like six. “I thought it was already agreed and he had a court date for the end of November to make that second, final payment and his divorce was going to be done,” Jenny said, revealing her disappointment.

It looks like they are taking it one step at a time.
