Tension at home? 90 Day Fiancé star Chantel Jimeno (née Everett) may have complete trust in her husband, Pedro Jimeno, but the same can’t be said for his family. After his relatives cheered him on while he got a lap dance from another woman in the Dominican Republic, it led to some serious issues with his wife — and the brunette beauty is hoping he “learned from [his] mistakes.”

The couple opened up about where they stand during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, sharing they’ve got some trust issues to work on. “I trust Pedro, I just don’t trust people around him and that he’s strong enough to put his foot down for me,” Chantel, 29, said. “The only problem that’s ever been between Pedro and I in regards to trust has happened, like, when [he was] in the Dominican Republic, like, around [his] family.”

Pedro, 28, promised “it’s not gonna happen again” and that the pair is “leaving this behind,” but it’s a moot point for now anyway. The couple, like most of the country, is quarantining amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Though all the time stuck together has been tough on some couples — like their fellow 90 Day stars Elizabeth Potthast Castravet and Andrei Castravet — these two are actually thriving.

“Right now, he can’t go anywhere,” Chantel said, joking that her husband couldn’t get into trouble even if he wanted to. “Just spending quality time together has been great for us. In the midst of everything, it’s done a lot for our relationship. … We have deeper conversations with one another now.”

One of those conversations seemingly focuses on their plans to start a family one day — plans that are on hold until they can figure out how to unify the family they already have. “There definitely needs to be more work between me and Pedro’s family, him and my family, before we would feel comfortable with even letting our child be out of our presence with [any relatives], honestly,” the Georgia native said. “There needs to be some apologies, and I feel like we can’t be civil with one another. We are not civil with one another, honestly. And I’m just waiting for that day when we can have just some common ground.”
