Tyler Baltierra Gives Kailyn Lowry ‘Props’ for Being ‘a Survivor’ During Difficult Childhood

If anyone understands having tough family relationships, it’s Tyler.

He and his dad have had a rocky relationship over the years.

Only recently have they gotten back on good terms.

In November 2018, Butch Baltierra celebrated one year of sobriety, and he and the Teen Mom OG star finally seemed to be on the right track.

So when Kail needed to talk about her mom, she knew just who to call.

The Teen Mom 2 star has also had a troubled relationship with her parent, and even claimed becoming a teen mom “saved” her from going down “a complete different path, more like my mother’s.”

But in August 2018, she considered reaching out.

She was thinking about trying to find her mom to reconnect, but it was a complicated issue. “I’m OK with her not being in my life, but now, I have three kids,” she shared on her podcast Coffee Convos. “I want my kids to have a grandma on my side. But I don’t know if I can handle it. When my mom’s sober, she’s such a good person. She’s a good time, so I want my kids to experience that.”

When Cate and Tyler heard the episode, they decided to reach out.

They’d been on similar journeys, and so they figured they could help.

Tyler hit Kail up on Twitter.

“@CatelynnLoweel & I wanna help,” he wrote. “So what do ya say, Kail, next episode of #KailAndTheChaos maybe lol?” She responded, “I’m so down!!! Road trip to find Suzi for Kail & the chaos!”

But like we said, the situation is complicated.

And so it wasn’t long before Kail decided that finding her mom might not be the best choice for her.

Tyler understood that, too.

After all, there have also been times in his life when he’s had to cut off communication with his dad.

Kail revealed to a fan that she “no longer [wanted] to reach out.”

And Tyler wrote back, “Mad respect, Kail … I get it.”

Once again, Tyler has made sure that he’s there for Kail.

He reached out on Twitter to share a little love with his fellow Teen Mom star.

“Props to Kail for real,” he wrote.

“If you didn’t come from our type of childhood & experience the dynamics we had with our parents growing up, you just don’t understand how hard it is to navigate that relationships as an adult. You’re a survivor, @KailLowry.”

And Kail was seriously touched by the gesture.

“Love you guys!!” she wrote back to him and Cate. “Thank you for always being there! Especially for stuff like this, when it feels like nobody can relate.”

We can’t imagine how much it meant to the star.

Back in August, she opened about how celebrating Lux’s first birthday made her feel like she’s missing some of the important people in her life. “I was like, ‘I don’t have a family,” she said. “My sister didn’t come [to the party], my mom didn’t come, I don’t even have a dad.”

Now it’s clear that she’ll always have her ‘Teen Mom’ family.

And they’re just a plane ride — or even a tweet — away.
