Kailyn Lowry Admits She Doesn’t Know If Her Mom Is Even Alive, But She “Wants Her Kids To Have A Grandma”

Kailyn Lowry has been talking a lot about how she “doesn’t have family” lately, and on an episode of her podcast Coffee Convos, she revealed just have deep the divide in the relationship with her mom Suzi Irwin has grown. 

Kail admitted that she was crushed when non of her family members showed up for her son Lux’s birthday party. “I was like, ‘I don’t have a family,” she said. “My sister didn’t come, my mom didn’t come, I don’t even have a dad. My third son just turned one and my mom, I haven’t heard from her. I’m kind of in my feelings about it.”

As a matter of fact, it’s been a looong time since Kail’s talked to her mom. She even admits that she doesn’t know if she’s even alive anymore, after decades of struggling with alcoholism. “It’s been years, I don’t think anyone in my family has heard from her,” said Kailyn. “For a long period of time, I cut my mom off, I had to.” 

We all saw Kail’s mom sign custody of her over to Jo Rivera’s parents after she got pregnant with Isaac on 16 & Pregnant. Even when they broke up, Kail could never really count on her mother. 

And yet, she’s considering reconnecting. “I’m OK with her not being in my life, but now, I have three kids,” said Kail. “I want my kids to have a grandma on my side. But I don’t know if I can handle it. When my mom’s sober, she’s such a good person. She’s a good time, so I want my kids to experience that.”

And perhaps she can! The Ashley’s discovered that Suzi is, in fact, still alive, and living just two hours fronm Kailyn. Whether she’s sober is unclear, but at least it’s not too late to try!
