So Sweet
On July 21, one fan wrote a message about Amber on Twitter. “OMG Tyler is presenting Amber with her one-year chip?! I can’t. I can’t,” they said. “I’m already crying, and they are JUST TALKING ABOUT IT. @TeenMom @TylerBaltierra.”

Biggest Cheerleader
The 27-year-old replied, writing, “I was so honored to be able to hand my sister her one-year sobriety chip! She’s doing SO GOOD, and I’m so proud of her. The opposite of addiction is NOT sobriety. It’s AUTHENTIC human CONNECTION!!! #TeenMomOG.”

Quite the Pair
Of course, fans couldn’t help but comment about his relationship with his sister. One person wrote, “Your sister [seeing] you behind her all the way gives her something to work that much harder for. Even just one day without drugs or drinking is something to be proud of,” while another echoed, “I was so proud for you that you went and that your wifey poo supported you. You both set the highest example of love, hardship, marriage, supportiveness, forgiveness. I could go on. Unlike other cast members of TM, you guys seem aware you have millions watching you and set example.”

New Career?
A third person chimed in, writing, “I could see you going around speaking to people about family addiction. You and your sister could talk about what it’s like and how you’ve overcome it, how you handle and cope with all you’ve been through. Just a thought! Do it @TylerBaltierra. You would be amazing at that. #Goals.”

Fam First
Amber, 31, went to rehab for drug abuse in March 2018 to treat drug-related issues. Despite her problems, the mother of two — she shares Lexi and Jordan with her ex Matt Bell — made it clear via Instagram that her kids are her priority. “These two. They are my rock,” she stated. “My motivation. My inspiration. The reason I breathe and wake up every day. Mommy loves you to move to more than you guys may know right now. You both deserve nothing but the best, and I will give that to you. I’m gonna miss you these 90 days. I know dad and everyone else will keep you busy this summer. Just know I love you both with every fiber in me.”

Staying Strong
She continued, “When mom gets home, she’s gonna be the best woman I can be and an even better mom. I’ll pray for your comfort and happiness every day I’m not with you … Show the world you’re my babies and you guys are strong and can get through anything because well, you got Baltierra blood, and it don’t get stronger than that. #Okurr.”

Accomplishment
Since then, the reality star has been posting her chips on social media every time she meets a new milestone. On May 12, she celebrated one year sober. “I was gonna make this huge caption … but … I’ll just leave this right here with no words,” the brunette beauty captioned a photo of her chip in her hand on Instagram. “#ProudMoment #LifeIsPossible #NeverGiveUp.”

Shout-Out to His Family
In January, the dad of two wrote a heartfelt note about his sister and his dad, Butch — who have both struggled with getting sober. “Writing this with tears in my eyes because words can’t express the amount of peace and joy I feel in my heart,” Tyler wrote on Instagram at the time.

Proud Pops
Tyler and his wife, Catelynn Lowell, 27, are the proud parents of Nova and Vaeda. They also share another biological daughter, Carly, whom they placed for adoption when they were very young. The MTV personality frequently talks about how much he loves being a dad on social media. However, Tyler’s father was not around when he was growing up.

Tough Times
“I always said [my dad] taught me what NOT to do as a father, so he still taught me something, LOL,” Tyler once wrote on Twitter. In October 2016, Butch went to jail for a short period of time after he was caught operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license. Prior to that, he served four years on home invasion, larceny and breaking and entering charges.

Bad News
However, Tyler recently revealed in June that his father has taken a step back in his recovery process. “My dad, he’s relapsed,” he told Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry and Chrisley Knows Best star Lindise Chrisley on their podcast “Coffee Convos.” “He’s in the middle of relapse right now. So, that’s the reality of that situation.”

Starting Over
“So, right now, we go back to square one of this whole relapse thing and kind of ride this train out and see what happens,” he noted.

Worried
Tyler took his dad to get treatment for his drug addiction during an episode that aired last season. “Who’s going to call him every day? You know?” he said to the counselor there.

Getting Help
“I know. The truth is Tyler this is a family disease,” the counselor responded. “You’ve suffered trauma based on his addiction. Every time that phone rings, and you’re wondering who’s on the other end and what’s he got to say. That’s trauma, that’s a trauma response. His happiness is not your responsibility. It’s his.”

The Truth
Butch revealed the truth in a Facebook video about a week ago before the Teen Mom reunion. “Thank you for all your support, I really do appreciate it,” he said. “I’m an alcoholic addict that struggles, and every day life for us, well, for me, I have to use my own experience. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t, but I’m back on track, trying to get back on there. I relapsed four or five months ago. But I’m back, and I’m trying to get it right. I turned 57 last month, and I’m getting old. I damn sure ain’t going back to prison, I know that!”
