‘TMOG’ Star Ryan Edwards Suffered With Anxiety After Watching Friend Get Stabbed in Jail

Getting in Trouble

Ryan, 31, was arrested on heroin possession and theft charges back in January. The reality star spent three months behind bars in Tennessee and he was later released in April 2019.

New Normal

Fans are now getting to see his post-jail life on TMOG, and it’s obvious the experience impacted his psyche.

Trusting the Process

Ryan’s wife, Mackenzie Edwards (née Standifer) was excited to have him back, but she knew it was going to take time for him to adjust back to his routine.

Giving Him Space

“I’m not expecting this to be some miracle when he comes home, and it’s all back to normal,” Mackenzie explained. “It’s gonna take a few weeks to decompress.”

Sharing Her Thoughts

Meanwhile, his ex, Maci Bookout, was hoping that Ryan’s parents, Jen and Larry, would persuade him to have a heart-to-heart with their son, Bentley, about the mistakes he made.

Venting Frustrations

“What I would love for them to do is say, ‘Hey Ryan, the second that Bentley gets over here, you need to have a f–king conversation with him. Man up, apologize, you need to talk to this child.’ But they’re not gonna do that,” Maci said.

Staying Quiet

After his stint, Ryan refused to open up about his experience, leading his loved ones to share some shocking details about his time behind bars.

Struggles Revealed

“He won’t leave the house,” Mackenzie admitted to the producer. “It’s just classic anxiety … It’s sad to watch somebody go through all of this.”

Terrifying Experience

Ryan’s mom, Jen, said that he previously told her what a “rough” time he had. “Two people died while he was in jail,” she explained about why he was struggling to come to terms.

Traumatized

“His buddy got stabbed 10 times before he left. He saw one person get beat up so bad there was blood everywhere,” Jen continued.

Hard Conversations

After Ryan visited Bentley, Maci opened up about her frustrations. Bentley told her Ryan “was going through a lot,” but Maci wasn’t sure if his parents said that or if he did.

After Jail

“Ryan is a grown ass man. Ryan and his family think that he can go to rehab and then do his jail time and come home, and everything should be perfectly fine,” Maci said.

Turmoil at Home

“They seem to forget that Ryan hasn’t been there for [Bentley’s] entire life,” the TMOG alum continued, while addressing how Bentley failed his tests at school the week Ryan was arrested.

Making Strides

Fast forward to now, and it looks like Ryan is slowly getting re-acclimated to his life.

Home Sweet Home

On June 16, Mackenzie shared a photo of Ryan bonding with Bentley and Jagger to celebrate Father’s Day.
