Less than a week after being released from jail, Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards smiled with his family on Easter while they celebrated the holiday. But what’s really going on between the former MTV reality personality and his wife, Mackenzie Edwards? The couple seems to have been struggling over the last few months — despite their festive family photo. Check out the gallery below to see their East photo and find out what’s been going on with the family now that the cameras are off.
But considering all the legal trouble Ryan’s been in lately, things are surely more complicated than they seem. On Monday, April 15, Radar Online confirmed that Ryan had been released — but he needed a break from his family ASAP.

It’s all about the me-time.
Just one day later, Radar was reporting that he needed even more time away from his wife and kids. “Ryan told Mackenzie, ‘The first thing I want to do is … I need a little time to be by myself,'” a source told the outlet.

And apparently Mack “understands.”
“He’s had no private time at all,” the source continued, before explaining how Ryan’s wife feels about the whole thing. She gets it — but apparently, she also told him, “I’ve been taking care of these kids. You need to help me with the kids when you’re done!”

She’s setting boundaries.
“She’s been really good. She’s been very firm with Ryan,” the source added. At the moment, though, he just needed to be alone. “He said he wants to sit in the woods for a whole day and not have to listen to anyone talk.”

He was craving freedom.
“He wants to get on his motorcycle and ride it.” Eventually, though, he’d need to come home and be a dad to his kids and a husband to his wife. And it seems like that’s what he did.

They spent Easter together.
Mack shared a picture of the whole fam on her Instagram — Ryan, Ryan’s son, Bentley, Mackenzie’s son, Hudson, and the couple’s son together, Jagger. It’s the first photo of all five of them together since Jagger’s birth in October 2018.

But how long will the good times last?
Ryan seems happy in the photo — and it make sense that he’d need a little alone time after being surrounded by people in rehab and then jail — but fans aren’t sure that the holiday happiness will stick.

And Mackenzie might be better off without him.
The source told Radar that she’s actually “more relaxed” when Ryan is away. “She’s being more like her old self where she is more down to Earth and not in defense mode all the time,” they shared.

Their relationship isn’t easy.
“Hopefully she doesn’t go back to being overprotective and antisocial when he comes home,” they said. But it would be understandable if she already has. After all, she’s been doing it all by herself for a while.
After all Ryan’s wife just got a new tattoo that just may be for him. On April 17, Mackenzie showed off her ink online — and the body art read, “I love you.” Though she didn’t give any details about the look, fans suspected it might be about her romantic relationship.

She’s showed him major love lately.
In January, Mackenzie called Ryan the “best lover” in a TMI post shared to celebrate the new year. She also called him her “best friend,” signifying that all was going well.

And they talked about baby No. 4.
A source revealed to Radar that they were thinking about having a fourth child — their second together — before his arrest. “They talked three weeks ago about having another baby,” the source said.

But what’s next?
Now that Ryan is free — and back with his family — we’ll have to wait and see if he manages to stick around. His rehab stint in fall of 2018 was far from his first — and it wasn’t his first time behind bars, either.

There was also that cheating scandal.
In December 2018, the dad was allegedly back on Tinder and was even caught sexting in graphic text messages shared by Radar Online.

But hopefully they can make it work.
After all, between the two of them, they’ve got three kids to look out for. And, in the past, they’ve managed to withstand more than most couples could. As of the April holiday, it’s possible things are looking up for the Edwards family. Maybe it’s an Easter miracle.
