Babies in Tow! ‘The Derricos’ Introduce Newborn Triplets to Their 11 Children in Heartwarming Teaser
Karen Derrico welcomes her triplets shared with husband Deon Derrico and introduces the infants to the rest of their children in a heartwarming teaser clip from the upcoming Tuesday, August 25, episode of Doubling Down With the Derricos.
“It’s nothing like bringing your babies home and seeing my other 11 children,” the proud mama, 43, says. Denver and Dallas gush over their newest siblings in the video, which shows the entire brood gathering around the carrier when Karen arrives. It appears she introduces one of the babies to her loved ones first.
The couple names their bundles of joy Dawsyn, De’Aren and Dyver, rounding off their family of 16. Karen gave birth to the triplets in July 2019, but fans are now getting to see the exciting moments play out on television.
Shortly after they were born, she took to Instagram with a breastfeeding update. “Our babies are 3 weeks old and doing well! I’m pumping seven times a day for 15 minutes and hand expressing after each pumping! I’m tired and sleep deprived!”
“If I don’t pump, my preemies don’t get the fabulous nutrients they need!” the reality TV star added in her caption at the time. “If I don’t go to the [neonatal intensive care unit] and take videos then I’m not stimulated! I need to hear their cries! I have had several new moms that I met in the hospital call me to give up on breastfeeding! Listen it’s not for everyone! But it’s worth it for everyone!”
Karen and Deon, 49, give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it is like having such a big brood in the popular new series. The TV personality and her beau admit that having so many children together isn’t easy by any means, but they keep up with the to-dos by maintaining a bedtime, grooming and school routine.
She previously said they spend $2,500 to $3,500 a month easy on groceries and have to squeeze in “18” loads of laundry a week to make sure they don’t end up with an enormous pile of clothes. As far as pampering sessions go, Deon has his own barbershop at home for the boys, and Karen has a salon for the girls.
While it may seem the couple had some extra help conceiving, Karen confirmed she didn’t use “one round of IVF” to have any of her children!
Doubling Down With the Derricos airs on TLC on Tuesdays at 10/9c.
