He’s clapping back. Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry‘s baby daddy Chris Lopez has a bad reputation of being an alleged “deadbeat dad” because of the way he’s portrayed on the hit MTV series. But Chris took to Instagram on Sunday, April 28, to share a rare picture with the former couple’s son, 1-year-old Lux, and he slammed the claims of him being an absentee father in the caption. Scroll through the gallery to find out what Chris had to say!
Kailyn, 27, and Chris have had quite the tumultuous relationship over the past three years that they’ve been dating off and on.

During an episode that aired on season 8 of Teen Mom 2, Kail complained about Chris’ participation in their son’s life during a vacation to Hawaii with costar Leah Messer.

“Chris texted me. Chris saw that I was in Hawaii and now all of a sudden he’s asking where his son is,” Kail said. “But before I came here, he never asked me one time how his son is doing. So now he wants to know and now all a sudden he wants to see his son this week while I’m here. That’s horrible.”

“But legit, in seven months, this might be only the second time he’s asked how his son is or where his son is,” Kail continued. “Oh, he posted a picture of him and the baby in my bed, that was when the baby was a month old and he just posted it the other day. Like, please don’t be an Instagram dad, because that’s what you are.”

“Depending on who asks either of us, depends on our answer,” Kailyn said. “If you ask him right now, ‘Are you with Kail?’ Depending on who’s asking him, he may say yes or he may say no.”

But even though things weren’t going well romantically between them, Chris did step up as a dad.
“I respect it. I can’t complain,” she said. “You take Lux when you have to take him, you’re paying child support. I don’t have any complaints.”

Kail got extremely honest and admitted that she wanted more.
“We have a 1-year-old, there’s no reason why we need to be coparenting, but in a relationship, living separately, when we’ve been together on and off for three years,” she lamented. “If we aren’t growing together, we need to just say bye.”

And it seems like they did say “goodbye” for good after that. In March 2019, Chris took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on his split from his baby mama.
“Better off without that bitch and I’m glad we fell off,” he tweeted.
