Jersey strong! On Tuesday, April 2, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi gave an update as to how her Jersey Shore costar Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is doing in prison, and it seems like he’s actually having a good time. Scroll through the gallery below to get the scoop on The Sitch’s new life.

“Mike is having the time of his life,” the reality star, 31, told E! News. “He’s doing good in there but thank God. We were all nervous.”

Jokes for Days

Snooki couldn’t help but make light of Mike’s time in the slammer. “It’s like he’s in a senior home,” Snooki joked. “We all talk to him through an email, so I talk to him like once a week.”

Doing Good

She continued, “He is helping other people out with sobriety, he loves bingo and all of his scrabble games, and he is working out. He’s in the gym a lot, so he’s probably gonna come out ripped. You know, he’s not gonna be BDS anymore — Big Daddy Sitch — he’s gonna have his, probably, six-pack again. But he’s doing good in there.”

Crime Time

The MTV personality, 36, began his eight-month prison sentence for tax fraud at the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York. His prison date release is reportedly set for September 13, 2019.

Keeping Everyone in the Loop

Mike’s wife, Lauren Sorrentino (née Pesce), has been updating fans via Twitter on how her hubby is doing.

Caring Wifey

“Hi everyone, it’s Lauren,” she wrote on January 16. “Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love and support. We speak every day and he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude to each and every one of you.”

Support System

She continued, “Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time. Lots of love, Michael and Lauren Sorrentino.”

You’ve Got Mail

Snooki reiterated that Mike enjoys receiving messages from his loyal fanbase. “He loves the fan mail that he is getting,” she said. “So, everyone keep sending the fan mail because it takes up his time in there and he loves it!”

Jersey Bros

Vinny Guadagnino, 31, also spoke about his costar and bestie Mike in January. “I heard he’s doing great in there, which is amazing,” he said. “Like, I knew he was gonna do good and he, um, was, was never, like, really nervous about it. So, I was praying. I’m like, ‘Oh, God, I hope once he’s in there it’s OK.’”

Best Friends For Life

He continued, “He’s gonna be all right. He’s so strong, mentally, from, like, his [drug addiction] recovery process that it’s working out for him now in jail. Mike’s the type of guy now that, like, looks for the positive in every situation.”

Here’s the Sitch

Vinny, a.k.a. the Keto Guido, thinks Mike is handling ~the situation~ just fine. “I can picture him in there watching TV, working out, like, ‘This is pretty cool,’ you know,” he confessed.

Recovery Process

The New York native got candid with his followers in a YouTube video in February, where he discussed his previous addiction issues. It seems like Mike has come a long way!

Coming Clean

“I was known to be, ya know, one of the bigger parties on Jersey Shore, so I had to think in my brain, ‘How was I going to contribute to the show if it even gets popular?’ You don’t even know if people are going to watch the show again,” he revealed. “So, I just said to myself, ‘I’m going to have to continue to challenge myself in recovery.’ My base was two years sober, I had the sponsor, I had a good support system at home with my wife.”

Lean on Me

So, what’s going on with the other cast members? Jenni “JWoww” Farley is getting divorced from her ex Roger Mathews, but Snooki reassured everyone that she is staying positive. “Jenni is my best friend,” she said. “We are there for each other no matter what, especially through the hard times, so I am trying to, you know, keep a smile on her face and distract her as much as possible because she is stressed, very stressed right now.”

Positive Vibes

The mother of two explained that she has been hanging out with JWoww, 34, and sending her gifts so that she can put a smile on her bestie’s face.

Laying Low

Meanwhile, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 33, has made headlines as he frequently fights with his baby mama, Jen Harley. But right now, the two seem to be in a good place. “Ronnie has been out of the news for a while, thank God,” Snooki dished. “His daughter is turning one next week, so they’re having a little party. I can’t go because I am going to be in Disney, but that is going to be on season 3. Ronnie is doing good. Stay out of the news, bro.”

Mom Knows Best

In other news, Deena Cortese, 32, recently gave birth to a son named CJ. “I always knew she was going to be an amazing mom,” Snooki said. “She was always so maternal and caring, but she is doing so good. I met him a few times and he is so cute.”

Bumpin’ Around

Snooki is expecting her third child — a baby boy — this summer. “This pregnancy is probably the worst,” Snooki shared. “I’m chasing around a 4 and a 6-year-old, I’m not really having time to rest or sleep or any of that, which is fun, but I’m grumpy.”
