Prince William is “concerned” about his father Prince Charles’ coronavirus diagnosis, a source exclusively tells In Touch. The Prince of Wales, 71, tested positive for the respiratory illness and has been displaying “mild symptoms,” but remains in “good health,” according to a statement released by the Clarence House office on Wednesday, March 25.

“As soon as Charles got the test results back he immediately called Harry and William to tell them,” the insider tells In Touch exclusively. “William’s obviously concerned about Charles, but he’s trying to remain calm and level-headed. He told his dad that he’s willing to step up and do whatever he can to support him while he rests up.”

After getting an update about his health, Charles has been working from home “throughout the last few days as usual.” The royal is currently self-isolating at his property in Scotland, shared with Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall. Luckily, his wife tested negative for the virus, the statement confirms.

Queen Elizabeth also “remains in good health,” the Buckingham Palace shared in a statement. “The Queen last saw The Prince of Wales briefly on the morning of March 12 and is following all the appropriate advice with regard to her welfare.”

Just last week, Her Majesty, 93, released another statement talking about the importance of social distancing. “We are all being advised to change our normal routines and regular patterns of life for the greater good of the communities we live in and, in particular, to protect the most vulnerable within them,” it read.

According to the Clarence House office, it’s unknown when or where Charles contracted coronavirus, as he “carried out a high number of public engagements during the past few weeks.”

Upon learning that his father tested positive, “Harry took the news very badly and got emotional on the phone,” another source exclusively tells In Touch. “Despite their ups and downs, Harry loves his dad.”

“Hearing that he’s sick with a potentially life-threatening illness is a huge wake-up call and he feels guilty about not being closer to home right now,” the insider claims. “Charles tried to put Harry’s mind at ease by telling him that there’s nothing he can do and promised him he has nothing to worry about.”
