A grand jury has indicted Eric Ronald Holder Jr. for the murder of Nipsey Hussle (a.k.a Ermias Asghedom) and the wounding of two other men in Los Angeles on March 31. The rapper’s suspected killer, Holder, pleaded not guilty today, May 21, according to docs obtained by In Touch.

Holder, 29, was indicted for murder by the State of California on May 9 and the charges against him include one count of murder, two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm as well as one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. The indictment also includes allegations that he used a handgun and “caused great bodily injury.” Now that he’s pleaded not guilty, Holder is scheduled to return for a pretrial hearing on June 18 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

The “Higher” rapper was tragically shot and killed outside his clothing store on March 31, and he sadly passed away at the young age of 33. Hussle left behind a beautiful blended family shared with girlfriend Lauren London. The couple was together for over five years and they share one child together, a precious son named Kross. Their brood also included his daughter from a previous relationship named Emani, and her son, Cameron, fathered by rapper Lil Wayne.

Hussle’s death has been very difficult to process for friends, family and fans. Back in April, London accompanied their children and his younger relatives on stage at his star-studded memorial. The actress had the audience in tears with her heartfelt speech about their incredible love story.

“You’ve made me into more of a woman. You’ve given me the opportunity to really love a man,” London said while getting visibly emotional. “I wouldn’t want to go through this journey with anyone but you … I just want you to know that you have been the greatest boyfriend to me.”
