Nothing like exes on good terms. Nathan Griffith took to Twitter to send some birthday love to ex-wife Jenelle Evans and defend the 28-year-old from the “haters” who lurk in the comments.

“I know the critics will criticize and I know the ‘hatters,’ a.k.a haters, will hate but this is honestly the first time in a while that I’ve seen @PBandJenelley_1 make serious and positive changes in her life and thinking,” the 33-year-old wrote on Thursday, December 19, poking fun at trolls who didn’t excel in language arts. “I’m so proud of the person you’re becoming. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”

Jenelle herself took some time to reflect on her growth during her special day. “‘Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself and love yourself to become a new person’ — Gerard Way,” she tweeted, adding, “#HappyBirthdayToMe” with appropriate birthday emojis.

There has always been a lot of drama around Jenelle since her days as a teen mom, but now the mom of three is turning her life around. The reality star made the decision to relocate in November following her divorce and restraining order against estranged husband David Eason.

Most recently, Jenelle had her restraining order against David, 31, extended until 2020 in early December. The dad is now prohibited from contacting his ex or any of his children, including his daughter he shares with Jenelle, Ensley. “There has been a continuance until the 13th of January,” a Davidson County clerk in Nashville, Tennessee told Radar Online. “The order of protection will be extended until that date.”

Since Jenelle has distanced herself from her old life in North Carolina and set sights on her new one in Tennessee, her fans have noticed her change in attitude. “Your kiddos look really happy. So glad [you] changed your life,” one fan commented on a photo Jenelle shared of Kaiser and Ensley on November 23. “I hope you look just as happy,” another wrote. “Keep your [chin] up. I wish you and your kids all the happiness in the world. You all deserve it.”
