Clowning around. Cody Simpson took to Instagram to share a video of him and girlfriend Miley Cyrus touching tongues in eerie filters of the Joker. The mushy video posted on Sunday, October 13, is both equally terrifying and kind of cute.

As the two singers snuggle up in bed, their sweet giggles were covered by audio of the Joker’s infamous laugh. A bare-chested Cody, 22, leaned in to touch his tongue against Miley’s as she lay next to him in nothing but a Calvin Klein bralette — all while wearing the scary filter.

The new couple has been heating up in recent weeks after Miley’s split from husband Liam Hemsworth and short fling with Kaitlynn Carter. “Miley and Cody are old friends. Right now she needs someone she can trust and rely on and Cody is that guy, he gets her,” an insider told In Touch exclusively. “He’s super sweet, tall and Australian — just like her ex Liam. So there’s that!”

“Cody has a calming effect on Miley and that’s what she needs right now,” the insider added. “He’s like her comfort food. She needs Cody in her life right now.” The two have been super affectionate and aren’t afraid of PDA. An eyewitness spotted the couple around town and told In Touch they were “hugging, kissing and talking.” The source also added that the 26-year-old sat on her man’s lap where they continued to make out and hold hands.

The “Malibu” singer and the Australian hottie seem to have a lot in common as they are both avid singers. Cody recently posted a video of the two singing together to Elvis Presley’s “Ku-U-I-Po” while watching Blue Hawaii.

Cody even wrote his new love a little poem that he shared on his Prince Neptune poetry Instagram account. “The moon’s souvenir / the boulevardier / a ballerina on the promenade,” he captioned a photo of a girl standing on a balcony. “We open our curtains / to the domesticated world / for a natural hour / spinning Elvis records / and making love / in the soft jeweled morning.” Looks like these lovebirds have no intention of turning down the PDA anytime soon.
