That breakup might not have been so amicable! Though Miley Cyrus asked her followers to “please” not make dating “awkward” for her when she confirmed her new romance with Cody Simpson, all the publicity might have Kaitlynn Carter feeling some kind of way. On Thursday, October 10, the reality star seemingly responded to her ex’s new romance on her Instagram Story.

While spending time with her horse in the great outdoors, she seemed to throw some shade. “If you know me, you know,” Kaitlynn, 31, captioned the post. “[This is] all I need in life,” she said, adding a horse and heart emoji as she fed her animal friend. Earlier in the day, she had also posted an inspirational quote that had fans speculating that it was about Miley, 26.

“Love is friendship that has caught fire,” read the quote on a greeting card the Hills star had posted. “It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weakness.” Though Kaitlynn hasn’t spoken publicly about the breakup — her second in just a few months after she called it quits with husband Brody Jenner — the fact that she and Miley were friends first before their fling had fans side-eying the post.

The blonde beauty hasn’t been totally silent, though. In addition to her subtle Instagram stories, fans suggested one of her Instagram captions also may have been in response to Miley publicly flaunting her new boo. “THAT WAS WAY HARSH,” she captioned a photo in which she rocked some Clueless-inspired plaid. Despite the movie reference, many thought the post had an ulterior message.

The former Hannah Montana star has also gotten her digs in. At the end of September, she shared her own Instagram Story about waking up in bed with her “two stinky dogs” and how they remind her to “love without conditions.” In the post, she continued, “They are careless about the details. They live by the golden rule. … Love & be loved. Nothing in between. No questions regarding wealth, career, talents, race, age, sex … They love back 100x.”
