Lindsay Lohan Seemingly Shades Cody Simpson’s Romance With Miley Cyrus: ‘You Lost Your Future’
She’s got beef! Lindsay Lohan seemingly shaded Cody Simpson‘s new relationship with Miley Cyrus after he won The Masked Singer Australia in a since-deleted Instagram photo on Monday, October 21. “When you realize you failed, and you settle for less @codysimpson,” the 33-year-old captioned a black and white photo of the 22-year-old singer with her sister, Aliana Lohan, since they used to be an item. “Family is everything. You won The Masked Singer, but you lost on your future.”
During the season of the hit show, Lindsay — who is one of the judges — guessed that Cody was behind the mask. “My sister dated him, so I have a little insight,” she said. “If it is you, we have a lot to talk about, and this is not the arena for it. I want my furniture back! Because I bought your furniture for your house in Venice! And if it’s not, I am so sorry.”
The redheaded beauty told her costar Jackie “O” Henderson the reason why she was annoyed at Cody. “When Lindsay’s sister was dating Cody [in 2018], they moved into a place on Venice Beach but didn’t have any furniture,” Jackie said on the Tuesday, October 22, episode of The Kyle & Jackie O Show. “So, Lindsay bought them a house load of furniture. And then, as soon as they moved in, according to Lindsay, he split up with Ali. And then I think Ali moved out.”
Cody, for his part, told his side of the story. “I dated her sister for a little while, and I lived in this little beach shack in Venice in California,” he said while speaking to Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa on October 21. “And I didn’t have a bed, just a mattress on the floor, by choice. I just didn’t really care, you know. They came into the house and kept, like, ordering me stuff, and it would show up to the house. [Lindsay] bought me a bed frame.”
The actress not only dissed Cody but also had some things to say about his girlfriend, which fans didn’t appreciate. One person wrote, “Lindsay Lohan coming for Miley. What the hell is going on?” while another echoed, “Why is this girl even still in the headlines? Slamming celebs that have such a higher status than her is not a good look. How embarrassing.”
Not only was Cody the champion of the show, but it seems like he is happier than ever with the 26-year-old pop star. Despite being pals for a long time, the “Golden Thing” crooner explained why their relationship works so well. “We’ve been friends for so long that when we sort of found each other again in a space where … we both met back in the day when we were partying a lot,” Cody told In Touch and other reporters on October 11. “We had a lot of fun then. But now we’ve found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard and just like keeps things healthy.”
Looks like Cody might have won this round, Lindsay!
