On April 1, a.k.a. April Fools’ Day, Justin Bieber posted a picture of a sonogram and immediately, fans thought that he and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, were expecting their first child together. Unfortunately, the “Love Yourself” singer took his joke too far and many Beliebers were not happy with the Canada native. Now, Justin took to Instagram to apologize for his actions.

“There’s always gonna be people offended, there’s also people who don’t take jokes very well,” the 25-year-old wrote in a lengthy post on Tuesday, April 2. “I am a prankster and it was APRIL FOOLS’. I didn’t at all mean to be insensitive to people who can’t have children. A lot of people I know, their first go-to prank on April Fools’ is telling their parents they are pregnant to get a big reaction. But I will apologize anyway and take responsibility and say sorry to people who were offended. I truly don’t want anyone to be hurt by a prank.”

Then, the pop star somehow ended up comparing dessert to having a child … LOL. “It’s like when I shoved cake in my little sister’s face for her birthday expecting her to laugh, but she cried,” he continued. “You sometimes just don’t know what will hurt someone’s feelings — not to compare pregnancy with cake in the face — but it’s just to paint the picture of not knowing what will offend. Some might have laughed but some were offended.”

In the end, Justin realized that he can’t make everyone happy. “I think with pranks you sometimes have to roll that dice. #prankster #dennisthemenace #sorry #truly,” he said.

The day before, the handsome hunk shared pictures of his wife at a doctor’s appointment and several people played along with the joke. However, many of Justin’s followers thought he was being insensitive to couples who might have trouble conceiving. One person wrote, “Sorry, but that was really f–king insensitive of Justin Bieber,” while another echoed, “So many people can’t have kids, and it’s not really something to joke about, is it?”

In the wise words of Justin, “Is it too late to say sorry?” Well, it’s certainly better than nothing!
