It’s date night, y’all! And in the Duggar family, that can mean a lot of different activities, but for Joy-Anna Duggar and her big brother John David Duggar, this week it meant queso. Now that the constable has finally settled down, he’s part of the married crew, and he and his new bride, Abbie Burnett, are more than ready to head to the nearest Mexican joint with one of their siblings and a spouse. Sure, you were finally able to shake off all those chaperones, but isn’t it kind of lonely now without them? Watch the video above to check out their special night, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
For their big night out, Austin Forsyth and the rest of the crew headed out to a restaurant where they could share a private booth and chow down. The couples seemed to have a great time, and even shared their night on social media. “Double date!” Joy captioned a boomerang of her big brother and new sister-in-law, adding a sparkling heart emoji. She also made sure to get a shot of the queso — and it looks pretty good.
Now that both of the Duggar kids are married, it’s nice to see them spending time together as adults. And it seems like John and Joy share a special bond that we haven’t gotten to see all that much on the show. Usually, it seems like the girls stick with the girls and the boys with the boys, but Joy has always been a bit of a tomboy. In fact, the two are actually so close that she started crying when she found out her big bro was finally courting.
“I was like, ‘You’re kidding me. Is this a joke or is this real?'” she admitted in a clip from the Counting On special about John and Abbie’s wedding. “And then I was like, ‘John wouldn’t do this for just a joke.’ I was really shocked.” We can imagine that she’s even happier for him now that it means they get to spend nights like this together. Now, we’re just dreaming about the day that his twin, Jana Duggar, will finally get to join in.
