John David Duggar and Abbie Burnett Celebrate Anniversary of Their Engagement: ‘Living in Love’
They’re back! On Tuesday, July 16, John David Duggar and his wife, Abbie Grace Burnett, rejoined the social media world to share that they’re celebrating the first anniversary of the day they got engaged. The Instagram post is the first from the little family in a while. Fans haven’t heard much from the couple since the most recent season of Counting On finished up in March 2019. Though they gave occasional updates in April and May, revealing that their lives together involved going on nature walks, visiting Oklahoma for Easter and joining a new church, they haven’t been giving Duggar followers the inside look into their lives that most of JD’s siblings are happy to share.
Thankfully, that’s changed. “One year ago today, we got engaged!!!” John, 29, and Abbie, 27, wrote on the social media site, sharing photos from last year’s proposal. “Living in love together only gets sweeter with each passing day!” In the comments, friends and fans couldn’t help but share love of their own. “Y’all are adorable!” wrote sister-in-law Anna Duggar. “Happy engagement anniversary!”
The stars’ followers offered their own congratulations, as well as some other messages they had for the happy couple. “We’ve missed your updates!!!” wrote one commenter. “Yay, you two finally posted,” said another. “Why do we always get old pictures that we’ve already seen?” complained a third. “I love this couple. [I] would love to see more recent and more about their life together! I’m sure it’s very sweet.”
But one Instagram user actually had a theory about why that is. “[It’s] probably because she’s already knocked up,” they responded. “I was thinking that, too!” agreed a second. “As long as it’s been since [we’ve] seen them, she could’ve had it by now!!” Of course, considering the fact that the couple are Duggars, they’ve been subject to pregnancy rumors and theories since they tied the knot back in November 2018. We’ll hold off on speculating too much, but we definitely agree that we’d like to see more of these cuties. The little we saw of them on the family’s reality show just wasn’t enough to sustain us until the next season.
