Jill Duggar Shares a Birthday Wish for Derick Dillard — and He Gets Dragged in the Comments
If anyone cares, it's Derick Dillard's birthday. Proud wife Jill Duggar took to Instagram to share a birthday wish for her husband — and to show off her homemade decorations. Check out the video above to see the pic!
"Happy birthday My Love! You’re the best hubby and father! I’m so in love with you! I hope this last birthday in your 20s is a good one," the 26-year-old wrote in her caption, revealing that Derick is officially 29 years old. While many of Jill's devoted followers took to the comments section to wish him a happy birthday, the exiled reality star also faced his fair share of sarcastic well wishes as well.
"Derick, happy birthday. As you blow out your candles, you should wish forgiveness from God for the things that come out of you mouth," one person said, while another added, "May Derick learn the true meaning of being a Christian for his 29th year." Ouch!
Many others simply dragged him, without trying to mask it with a fake "happy birthday." "Wow! 29 and still doesn’t have a real paying job! How very sad," a follower wrote. "I don't think this year will be a good birthday. After all he posted on Twitter yesterday he seems really emotional and upset. I have a feeling Derick will be on Twitter again all day complaining how life isn't fair," another said.
The father-of-two has recently been criticized for his series of tweets slamming TLC for not paying his son Samuel's medical bills, and he's even claiming the network never paid him, period. "We could pay for it fine; I had a great job. The point is, I thought that at least since they were making money off the birth special episode, they could help soften the burden a little," he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. "And no, as far as we could tell, we were volunteers and hadn't been paid anything for the show."
The former Counting On star was fired from the hit show back in November 2017 for his transphobic comments about fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings.
